They would have survived even if that wasn't the case, as they will survive this as well. Ultimately speaking few people will stop being fans unless they were only fans of Rushia and not of anyone else in Hololive. Cover is bigger than any individual member and most fans will continue to support the company.

I can’t imagine HL being the one to get rid of their top earner from their most successful gen. I can see her leaving on her own, but pushing her out not only looks terrible for them PR wise. It also is a terrible financial decision considering she’s barley lost any subs and is guaranteed shit loads of money on her first stream back. If it does happen, I’m sure we’ll never know for certain if neither party speaks, but if I were HL I’d be doing everything in my power to keep her.

Bakatare have said something along the lines of "They thought the announcement would have been up earlier, and was surprised people only knew of it now. They also ask people not to prod the other members too much about the issue until they know the whole details"

the bigger question is what she could've leaked, remember cover's explanation was "PR damage", which could be anything from "the cantina bagels are dry" to "yagoo's casting couch".
there wasn't really anything (so far) that could've tarnished cover's reputation besides their own actions and their consequences.

it kinda reeks of "zoomer menhera" vs "crusty nip corp politics".
