I am concerned that Biden's response to an invasion in Taiwan would be to put his hands in his pockets and whistle in the other direction, even more likely than he does with this invasion.
I'm inclined to agree. China will be watching how Biden responds to Ukraine carefully. If he shits his pants and does nothing, they'll take that as a green light to reclaim Tiawan. Besides, they paid a lot of money to have Biden installed. Frankly, he owes them.

To do significant damage to the Ukrainian military and coerce the Ukraine into accepting the situation in the Donbas

And to try to coerce the Ukraine into moving to a more neutral position between Europe and Russia which is the first step to turning the Ukraine into another Belarus
Ok so assuming russia succeeds, ukraine will be forced to do what russia wants strategically. Doesn't sound like "being done".

Russia recognizes the two separatist nations, crosses the Ukraine border with troops, and prepares for a scrap over 50-70 miles of LNR/DNR claimed-but-unheld land.
Just because it's not gone nuclear doesn't mean it's a nothingburger - how many oblasts must Ukraine lose before it's something?
All of them, apparently.

But what about Russia's low birthrates? Surely that will do Russia in given due time.

I've seen people say 800+ civilian casualties, I don't know where that number is coming from and I really hope it isn't true.
I don't think this video is going to be an isolated incident, like when Hamas throw toy rockets around and accidentally hit cyclists. tons of missiles flying around atm it seems, gotta be civilians getting fucked up

Shelling of Ivano-Frankovsk.

Kharkov TV station offices hit.

KA-52 chopper in Crimea.

Shelling near Mirgorod.

Shelling in Belgorod.

Russian vehicles crossing from Crimea.

Putin is probably going to play this as a Slavic Desert Storm, destroy the Ukrainian military and leave to consolidate Belarus and Donbass. If he decides to occupy the Ukraine after this he's truly as senile as Biden is.

I'm not sure I'm ready to bet on such words right now, considering...
Russia has had to do various financial gimmicks including cutting pension payments to cover its adventurism in Syria

Occupying Ukraine or some big chunks of it would be incredibly more expensive

Do it down the road, after more pressure is applied over years. Don't be obtuse

Ukrainian opinion of Russia has done a complete flip over the last ~10 years, they're not going to like Russia period. Maybe Russia can force them do what it wants anyway but making everyone around you hate you is a bad strategy over time

Hey man for what it's worth I hope you stay safe through all of this.
Awww, thank you, man.

Dunno how fucked I'm, but I live few blocks away from a major rail road hub, wich connects whole part of the country where I live.
