General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Lol, second I heard the announcement that simps and incels were raging over Rushia possibly having a boyfriend, I was waiting for this.

Took longer than I thought, to be fair.

The Vtuber fanbase is just as bad EN for weirdo obsessives as it is in JP.

I see people freaking out that she's talking about a lawyer and for some reason being annoyed with Rushia for it. If they fired her with apparently no notice, it's not really uncommon for someone to get a lawyer because she might be owed money or challenging their contract. That's really not unusual.

A warning for what? Not to use discord for personal shit?
If it's a warning to the others it would probably be "don't risk dragging the company into personal drama" since cover seems to strictly draw the line there. They say that the talents are free to do whatever they want when not doing work but that non-interference seems to go both ways.

Rushia was at least inadvertently putting herself in a position where the company would eventually have to deal with it (beyond the vague legal threat), they might have decided to just cut her loose instead so it doesn't affect the other talents. That could also explain why the other JPs are issuing fairly neutral "thank you for the support" statements.

I recall some other company having a similar incident but I can't remember which.

She was their top earner, but definitely wasn't out earning the rest of the JP branch combined.

I'm surprised this hasn't got its own thread actually. Now I'm not going to try to trawl through everything that's been written in the past couple of hours but imo it definitely seems that Rushia must have brought this on herself for a few reasons:

1. Cover has a track record of supporting their talents; they openly supported her only a week ago regarding the Mafumafu shit - and they even had the balls not just to keep Coco around but lionise her and disband HololiveCN when Chinese Nazis attacked her for the word Taiwan appearing on her screen when she looked at her analytics; (she didn't even say it; that's how easily triggered Adolf Xitler's personal army is). This is definitely something else.

2. They wouldn't fire their number one superchat earner (I think she was the biggest on all of YouTube either last year or 2020) without one hell of a good reason - and if they want to cancel the Nendoroids and Figmas, they could be in the loop for a lot of lost money from Good Smile too.

3. The fact that they even went into detail at all by saying what she's alleged to have done is very revealing; if it was false then this could not just be a Labour Board matter but a straight-up defamation case.

4. The HololiveJP talents seem to have been told in advance and aren't going off script as some of them did when Coco was attacked.

So yeah as much as it pains me to say (I quite liked Rushia; she was cute and yanderes are always good), what evidence we have is a) more than we would expect to have by now anyway and b) pointing the blame very much towards Rushia herself.

You can see there was already discussion of "leakage of information including those of fellow business correspondents."
Yeah it is entirely possible that Cover had to fire her because of some contract they have with another company that was breached by her blabbing. Would be funny if all this came down to a boring bureaucratic technicality.

Would make some sense based on her value to the company mixed with the fact they already defended her during the initial drama.

I doubt it'll get any for itself, to be honest, considering when Coco graduated we didn't get (or to what i've been reading) another thread.
Besides, this is a containment Thread, there's a reason this thread is so fucking huge.

Matsuri is still there, despite everything, no level of menhera, getting caught with a guy in her room on camera, bullshitting about it, etc ever got her in trouble, not even a slap on the wrist
Maybe the real menhera is not one who celebrates life (matsuri/festival) but one who is resurrecting the dead all along (necromancer)?

We already know she is mentally unstable, but do you think she would be retarded to ignore the NDA, disclose everything she has and burn every single bridge with any company worthwhile?
She definitely will, at least accidentally. I don't think she was close to any holo ever

Cover still has a lot of merch (and I mean a LOT) featuring the Rushia character coming, so I assume she's lawyering up to at least ensure she still gets the percentage she deserves

Expo + Rushia Nendo comes to mind immediately

I wonder what notRushia is gonna do if she goes indie.

Given that we've even got to this point, she might have already done just that. And, if not, given that she was unstable, stupid, etc. enough to leak stuff and screw over her career as Hololive's number one earner, the answer to that question should be obvius.

She seemed close to Marine and IIRC mentioned staying near Kanata etc, although since I don't remember her ever showing up for an IRL stream with Kanata or Coco prior to the coof she might not have been all too close with them.

I get that, but no amount of copium or PR spin could make Cover look good in this. Their reputation is probably going to take a worse hit than whatever money they lose from Orca and co. That's a level of petty too extreme even for JP corpo standards.
