Winning every battle does not mean they'll win the war. Cutting off international trade completely can absolutely wreck the russian economy. Imagine the panic of the oligarchs as their homes and bank accounts in the west get seized....

On the other hand, the west has its hands tied completly, its intellectual sphere subverted decennia ago by KGB agents, and the resulting policies (economic, political and military) have absolutely destroyed any sovereign acting capability they had left.
I note Biden's Sanctions were aimed at Putin's allies in his state.

I think a strategy would be to force Putin's hand but also entice powerful persons in Russia to perhaps see Putin killed or dethroned to forward their own interests. No doubt Putin is far more powerful than any one man in Russia but he is not as powerful as a mob of recently financially roiled billionaires who may see spending $50 Million per-person to see Putin killed or thrown out and jailed as a better alternative to losing a billion dollars per person.

If you can't breach the fortress, create an insurrection or throw plagued body parts over the wall.

I count 20, which is Russian doctrine for a helicopter squadron. They look to be Mi-24s, the famous Hind, though trying to determine the specific version is going to be hell. In addition to the firepower, that's also potentially a company of airmobile infantry, if they're doing the old Vietnam "raze the drop zone and set the troops down". I'm inclined to lean towards this possibility, since we only see a few firing off rockets, while the follow-ons could be carrying the troops once they're certain they're not going to get shot down.

Its apparently an air assault on Hostomel, a military airport outside Kiev

What's the best place to keep an eye for the best "Maximum vids of shit blowing up: Minimum amount of political sperging" ratio
This thread's doing a decent job, but I want more modern firepower in action

This VK group (MilInfoLive) is constantly posting more, and any politisperging isn't intelligible if you don't read Russian. UI is partially in English, too. The War Archives Twitter also posts just vids, no politics, is in English, and looks like they're tapped into similar streams, although he's missing stuff MilInfoLive has.

Probably a troll account, but these days, I dunno.

Pretty sure any children without supervision has already been abducted and shipped on the UN/EU child trafficking ring, so no point in worrying about those
All I know is that a lot of Ukraine refugees you'll be seeing will be black, just like all the Syrian ones didn't come from Syria.
Oh god, this hypothetical just keeps getting worse.

That's one thing I've always liked about the Hind's design. It can fill both air assault and CAS roles, which really makes a lot more sense when you compare that to helicopters like the shithook or black hawk.
They fill different doctrine roles. Blackhawks are far more mobile than hinds, which fits American air assault doctrine.

@Prosphora Moar choppers for you. I think your clip is related to these ones. According to the VK thread, they're KA-52 choppers.

Top one is the flight popping flares, which means somebody on the ground still has a Stinger or the like, and they noped the fuck out of that situation. Second one definitely looks like a kill, distance of about 1.5-2 kilometers from camera to chopper, and his buddy GTFO's, trying to keep the hills between himself and the launcher.

Ahhh I love the smell of сало сало in the morning.

Anyone reckon Putin would have tried this shit if the god emperor was still in power stateside? I doubt it.
And if the left hadn't interfered so much with Trump's diplomacy trying to make it sound like he is an agent of everyone he broke bread with, China would have to worry about US and Russia attacking it if they tried anything. Now a Russia/China alliance is almost certain unless Putin is marginally smarter than I think he is.
