other way round

you use the hardened elite troops to take territory with a quick and decisive advance, then dig in and create fortified positions, and then you send your lowly conscripts to man those fortified positions against possible enemy counterattacks while you take your elite troops somewhere else.
The big downside to this tactic is that it is heavily reliant on maintaining aerial superiority. It's why Russia has mind-boggling amounts of very advanced AA.

>russia is yeeting a country
>americans still talk about (((Trump))) vs. (((Biden))) as if it was 2020 again
I don’t think the US should be involved to begin with, outside of evacuating US citizens in those countries. US involvement would probably mean the problem just escalating further.

Was anyone else just expecting Vlad the Manlet to mainly posture and "be frontin" for minor concessions? I'm surprised he actually seems to be going all the way. All the glowies in the State Department crying about "muh imminent invasion" made me think it was going to be a nothingburger because of the age old boy-who-cried-wolf phenomenon. Of course this doesn't take away from my steadfast belief that glowies are consistently full of shit (after all they floated February 16 as the invasion date didn't they?).

I was thinking the cabal controlling Pedojoe was going to take credit for stopping a war that was never going to happen anyway, but now it seems Russia really recognizes globalist America as militarily impotent to a degree never before seen, and Putin is taking the risk that the cabal controlling Pedojoe will make yet another major foreign policy blunder.

Eh, nah. You actually want your best guys to be your spearhead, especially after the shock and awe of an initial strike with aircraft and artillery and the command disruption allowing mechanized troops to run wild. I'd guess that this is more a result of troops going too nuts in running off by themselves and advancing recklessly after the initial chaos and running into reorganized enemy concentrations and finding themselves biting off more than they can chew.
It's the first time many of the 'elite' forces have seen proper combat against a properly equipped and trained enemy force. What you see is likely the result of inexperience. Which makes the relatively minimal losses we have seen actually pretty good.

I don't really know what else he could do about it. I don't want a war with Russia. I don't think anyone else, in this thread, wants one, either.

Economic sanctions are really the only thing he could do. What do you think about it? I am genuinely curious what you guys want Biden to do about it

A diplomatic solution may have been possible, if the West had tried to alleviate Russia's fears of NATO bases right on their doorstep, and made sure that the ethnic Russian / Russian-aligned population in south-east Ukraine is better protected from overreach and "cultural genocide" (in Russia's view) by the west-Ukraine nationalist government,

But then again, these issues have been brewing for 15 year, so in fairness we can't pin it specifically on Biden that they haven't been resolved peacefully.

Please take this with extreme skepticism. But according to both vatniks and liberasts (Boomers and Zoomers) some people are apparently being rounded up for criticizing Medvedev on this OP and that is being treated as treason

That's basically what we've been dealing with since Trump. Propaganda. "Fact checkers" "mostly false" "fake news" "conspiracy theorists". And those retards are honestly surprised half the country doesn't want this war.
The Russian side has those too. Difference is that Russian propaganda is far more in the Looney Tunes dimension than the west, if you can even believe it. Russia says crazy shit like the Baltic States are basically North Korea and the well known Ukraine nazi holocausters out to kill anything with Russian blood. Shit that not even the half-brain russofile who watches it can believe with a straight face.
