President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

looks like wings lol. RIP to him and his horrible facial hair.
https://archive.md/tjfY0 there was another one where they said he was at the airport lol.
Can you explain to me how the Democrats are responsible for Russia invading Ukraine? I'm genuinely curious.
Our support of the Ukrainian protests in 2013 didn’t help matters.

The Democrats hate boner for Russia is a contributing factor too. “Russia is interfering in elections, Russia is our enemy, let’s invite Ukraine to NATO.” The Russians are skitzos drunk on vodka and high on who knows what, and even if Democrats are saying it to just fear-monger, the Russians interpret that as tantamount to war. In some ways it’s akin to the Zimmerman Telegraph. We don’t know how sincere it is and some believe that the English faked it. Irregardless we weren’t enthusiastic about a potential alliance between Mexico and Germany, even though we could easily have licked Mexico at the time. NATO is primarily an anti-Russian alliance currently since it was born out of the Cold War. So they have a similar reaction. Lastly, Biden goofed up Afghanistan and if I was Russia I would see that as a sign that we could push into other former Soviet bloc countries.

To be fair a lot of boomer Republicans are responsible too because they can’t get past the Cold War. So it can’t be blamed entirely on the Democrats but all of the muh Russia hasn’t helped. Even Putin himself is still a boomer butt hurt about the Soviet Union collapsing. So in short it’s more on boomers than anyone else.

Far righters are pissed that Trump was shit on consistently during his presidency, so they think that throwing a fit every time Biden so much as blinks helps their odds at getting Trump re-elected and validates their belief that he's literally the worst president ever and that America is doomed without the guidance of a 75 year old celebrity conman.

Putin is a schizophrenic lunatic madman who is a billion times worse than any western leader, but shut-in NEET faggots are willing to suck his dick because they still haven't recovered from their 2020 election ass pain.
There’s nothing “far right” about stupid nigger basement dwellers. It’s just edgy contrarianism making up for a lack of personality and ideals.

tl;dr: Biden is a cuck tht Putin clocked a mile a away.

Slightly longer:
Bungled Afghanistan pullout, showed weakness. Democrats have also been doing everything possible to remove US (and by proxy EU) energy independence - this is not just a strategic weakness but put money in to the hands of Russia to finance these current events. Working on trying to make sure trannies can suck the government teat and scrubbing history instead of actually gearing up for war.
Basically doing everything but being proactive with Russia and now we are getting geopolitical rope-a-doped.

Other than being a senile cuck, while annoying I can't really say I dissagree with Biden. If we don't sack-tap Russia, the west is weak and Putin stronk. If we do sack tap russia, then this feeds Putins "The west is always fucking with russia!" narrative.
Picking the former doesn't needlessly kill any US Service members.

I dunno it sounds like you're the one that's butthurt and flailing, not any far-righters.

The american president will shit himself and do nothing.

Most globalists will shit themselves and do nothing.

If Russia gets Ukraine, then it gets Ukraine, simple as that. They have fought for the right to own it. Its what humanity done through most of its history, after all.
They can hardly handle people in their own country anymore with shit like the Chaz/BLM, Yellow Vests, etc. They won't be able to do anything in foreign countries because the society has been decayed so horrendously and has lost the majority of its innovation and production to foreign entities. This is what happens when the government tries to solve every problem in society without allowing people to take risk and fail as needed, everyone goes insane and troons out while aspiring to be a Tiktoker.

Europe I swear to God, Burgerland better not have to come over there again.
The whole defense concept of NATO was centered around US Air and Naval forces, and largely european ground forces.
American bombs and european blood, if you will.
Which was a fair proposal back then, when a Warsaw Pact attack across all of Europe wasn't out of the question.

That's not the scenario we're dealing with anymore, though.
I don't think anyone in western Europe harbors the slightest intention to fight Russia, just to soothe 'Murica's bruised ego.
Any sympathies with Ukraine aren't reason enough to warrant WW3 either.

In some ways it’s akin to the Zimmerman Telegraph. We don’t know how sincere it is and some believe that the English faked it.

This is wrong. The German Ambassador attested to its contents, telegraph 110% real.
What is false is the manner it reach the US; it was intercepted by the British. The reason the Brits had to be cagey was because the German Ambassador (With the American Ambassador's permssion)used the US's diplomatic telegraph to send it and communicate with Berlin - and the Brits were tapping the US diplomatic telegraph. So the physical telegraph copy WAS fake, sent to british assets in Mexico IIRC to downplay British involvment but the content was legit.

Im telling people

"Dont expect most world leaders to do something about Ukraine, they are clearly more focused in oppressing their own population for daring to want freedom"

Ukraine aint gonna be saved, they are on their own.

I'm sure for you as a leftist he's a billion times worse but now how is he bad for me as a right winger? He hates blm and trannies so he's already much better as far as I can see.
