I would also like the conflict to end with as little casualties as possible, but the Russians should have considered the possibility that this was going to turn into a full on slugfest with larger losses than they expected

You need to stop listening to the Stronk memes. Russia's conscript army isn't as well kitted out as you think they are.

They are better off than the Ukraine. But nowhere near that of professional armies.

I have as much faith that the Russians are conscripting 16-year-olds to fight in this war as I do Ukrainians to fake capturing POWs or blowing up Russian tanks. It is either fake and gay or just gay.
