Some people are very attached to Biden being good because they don't like Trump. Hopefully they figure out that its possible to dislike both and that disliking Trump doesn't mean they have to irrationally defend Biden.

I believe a man once said "War is politics by other means." As for the diplomatic route, they have been trying for years. They made it clear that they did not want NATO expansion, and each time NATO leaders went "lol u can't dictate who we let in" so now you have a full scale invasion.

The best comprise would have been a guarantee that Ukraine would not join NATO, nor would there be NATO or US bases put there, but that Ukraine would become an EU member state and integrated into the European economy. Perhaps if we has competent leaders, Ukrainian men could be fixing toilets in Germany today instead of going down with the ship alongside the TV personality.

It basically guarantees defeat. Every Army practices operational security. But competent armies make sure EVERYONE, including the grunts, know what the mission is before it kicks off. What happens if the commanding officer AND his second borks the jump. Now nobody knows where they are or wtf they are supposed to be doing.

I would believe the Russian Army did something so monumentally stupid though, which would explain why the rumors a mix of Airport Guards and local Gopniks literally repelled an air assault.

without the backing of the US navy, chinese forces will overrun the entire island within days.
