I watched his pinned video, where he claims to have had insider info on why Coco graduated (tldw: she allegedly got ignored and stonewalled by chinese-leaning higher ups until she couldn't take it anymore and left). If he's not completely talking out of his ass and Hololive insiders (maybe Rushia, maybe someone else) were actually leaking info to him even back then, this might explain Cover's termination with extreme prejudice of Rushia after finding out she leaked stuff recently.

for starters you assume big companies are logical and their actions make sense. then you assume money is their main interest. while I wouldn't put cover on the level of blizzard or lucasfilm, they probably have enough nip autism to make up for it.
you're also falling for the same assumption pretty much every newbie video game dev has: "oh, this company is producing funny games/movies/vtubers, it must be totally cool and exciting to work in such a fun environment", which is like assuming the nestle HQ looks like willy wonka's chocolate factory.
anyone who was lucky enough to never had to deal with corporate politics simply won't be able to comprehend how retarded it can get. the closest comparison is probably trying to talk yourself out of a ticket from deaf meter maid for jaywalking at 3am on a rural highway.
you can even see it in their own announcements when they mention PR damage, which is corp speak for "affecting our brand value = people and business buying less of our shit". they just have to think that loss is greater whatever rushia makes them, because good luck putting that in actual quantifiable numbers, not to mention short term vs long term etc.
besides, as @Scuttle already mentioned, they already let one of their former biggest cash cows walk, coco didn't quit because it was so great up till that point (since she's still doing the same job we can pretty much guess that this wasn't it). did they do it on purpose? probably not. could've have handled it better preventing it in the first place? quite probably.
as I said before I won't blame it all on cover (or rushia), but we've seen what they're (in)capable of, same as we know of the 2d necro's technical competence. it's not the first time that different positions of corporation vs talent (a young female one at that) are at odds and leading to a nuclear outcome, to the point they can be both wrong and right at the same time (and could've been resolved better).
not that it makes much difference anyway, what's done is done and since there's zero chance cover is gonna rehire her, nor anyone will clear things up, that's all we gonna be left with.
which isn't wrong, there's no doubt that with a little more care from cover's side (plus the support among the talent) things would look a lot different (not coco or rushia level, but again, who could say now?)
