So is Kiev about to be attacked from multiple sides?
The Russian offensive forms a large pincer and follows four axes.

Two axes of immediate importance (Kiev, Odessa) which form the strategic pincer and two secondary axes (Sumy - Kharkov and the Donbass).

1st axis (North): Kiev
Coming from Belarus, the offensive on Kiev descended along the Dnieper on both banks of the river.

Left bank: Chernobyl
The Chernobyl area is under the control of the Russian army that continues its progression towards the capital on the left bank of the river.

Russian armoured vehicles should approach the suburbs of Kiev soon.

Right bank: Chernihiv
The area of Chernihiv, on the right bank, where the Russian army is also advancing, but less rapidly. For the time being, Ukrainian units still control the city, but the Russian army is massively infiltrating the area through Belarus without being stopped.

The offensive on the capital itself began last night with Russian cruise missiles ("Kalibr") being fired at strategic central government sites. A Ukrainian SU-27 was destroyed over the city.

Zelensky claims to be still in the city, but that the first Russian commandos have already infiltrated the capital. The Obolon district in central Kiev is the scene of clashes.

2nd axis (East): Sumy / Kharkov
Fighting was reported in Sumy.

Apparently the city has fallen and the Russian army is heading west towards Kiev.

Fighting around Kharkov is also taking place, with intensive artillery fire.

3rd axis (South): Kherson - Odessa
In the south, the Russian army made the most spectacular progress.

The city of Melitopol is in the hands of the Russian army and with it the motorway axis that links Crimea to Kharkov and Kiev.

Kherson is largely infiltrated by Russian troops who are heading for Odessa to lock down the Ukrainian coast by linking up with Russian forces already in Transnistria.

The Russian army deploys its anti-aircraft defence systems to secure the conquered territories.

Problem is that T-72 AM's are Ukrainian. I'm not saying it can't be a Russian tank, I just don't know of any Russian model that looks like that.
Hmm... I was unaware of that. All the Ukrainian T-72s I recognize have a very distinctive appearance. This was originally reported as a captured tank.

I'll retract the claim, just in case.

Its absolutely not a T-80BVM. Are you on something or just trolling?

^^T-80BVM. Notice that large Kontakt-5 ERA blocks.

I'm smoking hash AND trolling, what's it to you

(Its what these guys said)

ADDENDUM: The vehicle is lacking the Z/O etc markings that the Russians are sporting now so this may be propoganda bullshit and there are claims these photos are from 2015

Seems like a perfect target for a cyberattack. Oh no, these remote sensors are all reporting above normal data! Misinformation/disinformation/malinformation is an amazing thing once you realize how easy it is to exploit data streams without even touching the physical hardware.
Imagine caring that much about Chernobyl 40 years later. They're kicking up dust, not cracking open the sarcophagus, no one actually cares aside from garnering clicks.

Two soldiers died side by side -- one was Ukrainian, one was Russian. They weren't fighting the moment they died -- they were actually both shielding an elderly woman and her daughter as (artillery?) fire hit the area. The woman and her mom didn't realize until afterwards that one of their protectors was actually Russian. (Note -- The translation is hazy, I could be wrong and it could be saying that both soldiers were Russian, and she mistook them both for Ukrainians.)

The Russian soldier died under the focused, covering a woman with her mother. She mistakenly accepted the deceased fighter for the Ukrainian soldier.
Русский солдат погиб под обстрелом, прикрывая женщину с её матерью.

На видео она ошибочно приняла погибшего бойца за украинского солдата.

Footnote -- Figured out how to rip video from Telegram. Snooping the page source is a no, but brute-force saving the complete webpage like a caveman will dump the mp4. sEcURe pLaTfORm.

What galaxy brain thought that fucking around with military vehicles and explosives around goddamn sarcophagus was a good idea?
You just know there's at least one unironic Stalker fan in the unit(s) guarding the area. There is, at this very moment as I type this, at least one slav in body armor giving serious consideration into somehow entering the sarcophagus to see the IRL wish granter.

Miraculously almost all of the "The Ukrainians are making Russia pay for every inch with blood it can ill afford! They can still do this!!! Ukie Sanders can still win!!!!" posts have fallen off once the Americans went to bed.
We're about 30 hours into this and the Russians have made multiple advances against a dug-in and alert defender. It's hard to tell from what we have access to, but it sure seems like resistance is being done in small pockets as opposed to a grand defense. I suspect that some of those beginning targeted strikes that grounded most of the the air force and totally sunk the remains of the navy and blew up a whole bunch of logistics points that will be sorely missed in the next few days also took out enough of the higher brass to make a dent.
The Russians are taking loses but the people on twitter who react to a burning tank like it means something in the grand scheme of things need to lay off the cope. This isn't a "police action, " or a "peacekeeping mission," or a "targeted intervention." This is a full on "give us your shit, and also please die" war. Lots of people die. Lots of shit gets blown up. The world continues spinning on its axis.

Kiev is in a tough spot and was always going to be a nightmare to defend. Its fall won't signal the end of Ukrainian resistance, but it will provide a very clean point for the people who like the status-quo and want this off TV to go "well, sucks about Russian Man getting control of Ukrainistan or whatever it was called, it's important that at times like this we remember our core values and stay strong with our partners in the region. Know what would make you feel better? How about a new Toyota?"
