Mainstream social media doesn't know how to handle white people fighting white people so they gotta somehow drag race and "the far right" into the narrative
The websites have no problem making gay rainbow logos and "STANDING WITH" the minority group of the hour but they have no words for the murder of Ukrainian people. None at all. No show of support for them from the businesses.

This is the most pitiable kind of tribalist thinking. "Well, he might be a dictator who launches wars of aggression, murders his critics and builds giant mansions for his cronies while regular people live in poverty, but at least he doesn't like transgenders!"
Sounds based to me

Without understanding the context behind it. Try thinking beyond what happened in the last 15 minutes.

With this kind of attitude you'd consider the Soviet push to Berlin in '45 as a "war of aggression and general thuggishness."
Putin invading small, non-aggressive Ukraine is the same as the Soviets invading the country that murdered millions of their countrymen.

Take your meds.

I saved this specifically anytime China invading Taiwan comes up.

This is a very fascinating read on Chinese military philosophy. Even in the modern age they're decentralised and structured basically like ancient chinese empires with each CO acting almost like a warlord. They believe you can't control or create order out of chaos, they don't plan much ahead instead focusing more on reacting on the fly to advancements. Part of the PLAs Guerrilla roots ig

I miss anything good besides this entirely predictable ass whupping that the that the media are spilling their spaghetti over?
Besides the obvious war part the most substantial thing I think is that a few international bulk carrier vessels got attacked by Russian forces in the Black Sea.

*american social media. The American idea of race is very different to the rest of the world. That's why Whoopi Goldberg couldn't understand why the holocaust was racial.
Just image what finding out about Rwanda would do to her brain

Okay so what specifically was he doing for the past two years? And what was the rest of the Ukranian government doing for the six before that?
Poroshenko called for a ceasefire and a peace plan soon after his election in 2014, and between then and 2016 Ukraine, Russia and OSCE signed the Minsk agreements which at least attempted to simmer down the War in the Donbass and grant some concessions to the seperatists.

The real issue is that Zelensky was openly in favour of Ukraine joining the EU and NATO, and made the commitment to apply for both by 2024. That simply isn't acceptable for Russian strategic interests, which could at least tolerate Poroshenko's wishy-washy promises to join those organisations.

You're right! This is all Putin's principled opposition to NATO and not at all him attempting to expand the Russian borders like in Georgia and Crimea.
Let's be real here, places like South Ossetia and Lugansk aren't exactly economic powerhouses. There was an obvious value to the Crimea, hence why it was annexed immediately. Most of the other seperatist regions supported by Putin are propped up because of Realpolitik. Their continued existence humbles and frustrates neighbouring buffer states' interests to join the Western sphere, hence why the Russians are more than content to keep them lingering in international law limbo indefinitely if needs be. Transnistria has been a thing for like 30 years at this point. The only reason Russia is invading now, and why Lugansk and Donetsk are very likely going to become provinces of the RF, is because Ukraine and the West ignored the script and tried (or at least, made it sound like) they were going to go ahead with their plans in spite of the seperatists existing.

Any footage of that?

Everyone knew that when millions of Syrians were pouring into Europe, yet nobody stopped it. Something tells me they don't care.
I consider it inhumane to put refugees in places where they have little chance of getting off welfare. If they don’t know the language and the culture, it will be harder for them to get employment. It’s also bad for the people already there because then their tax money is then used to support refugees instead of going to things like schools or the military. It’s why I think that Arab refugees should flee to other Arab countries instead of going to places like Sweden or the US where the language and culture are too different to assimilate quick enough.

Russia attacked some black sea ships and made martyrs of soldiers stationed on an island there, China is refusing to lend money to Russia after it's stockmarket halves overnight and Chechnya has fighters on both sides of this conflict.
Is there a summary of this shorter than a novel?
The absolute TL;DR is China doesn't have the equipment to make an amphib landing, Taiwan would put up resistance, it would be open season on all shipping in the straight of Taiwan due to the Chinese needing to use civilian shipping freighters and supplying an island invasion with no shipping route or airfield that the Taiwanese would absolutely want to hold onto means it favors them not the Chinese.
China would lose if they invade Taiwan.

My roommate believes that this shouldn't have happened because advancements in technology have enlightened us while making us a more evolved species who have moved on from wars.

Maybe being online 24/7 does make you retarded.
Reminds me of that silly idea from Thomas Friedman about how if two Nations are developed enough to have a McDonald's they have too much to lose and won't fight. Man is driven by more than "rationality" and muh GDP.

"Look at these poor POC oppressed by white supremacists NAZIs!" *shows a picture of two slavs, indistinguishable from one another, fighting.

Someone is hoping people don't remember what happened nearly twenty years ago.
