What is Putin supposed to do? Just let NATO encroach further and further towards his borders until the options are nuclear war or him hanging outside the Kremlin? I'm not even shitting on you, what would you realistically do in his shoes?

I consider it inhumane to put refugees in places where they have little chance of getting off welfare. If they don’t know the language and the culture, it will be harder for them to get employment. It’s also bad for the people already there because then their tax money is then used to support refugees instead of going to things like schools or the military. It’s why I think that Arab refugees should flee to other Arab countries instead of going to places like Sweden or the US where the language and culture are too different to assimilate quick enough.

It absolutely is inhumane. Both to the migrants and to the natives. I imagine the idea is to create a kind of paralysed client class that will only ever vote for more gibs

I'm Polish. I've been in Ukraine multiple times, I've been in Russia. My friends are from Ukrain, Russia and Belarus. I know how people live there. Standards of living there are crap compared to Poland. And mind you, Poland is hardly the wealthiest country in the world.

Inhumane? It's a fucking holiday in my country if you can get on permanent welfare. Free housing, free uni, free healthcare, free public transport, and I mean FREE. Not subsidised, 100% free, and my country isn't even the worst offender in Europe for these policies. The language thing makes it easier because you can always just claim language incompetence and be permanently seeking a job to qualify for welfare, but "I really tried to learn, sir, I really did!". Compared to the shithole countries they come from, it's the opposite of inhumane.

Someone in this thread posted a quote from a pro Russian soldier in the Donbaus area saying what's going on now is much easier than the last 8 years when they were getting shelled by Ukraine. Now that isn't not be true, it could be a lie, but if that has been happening its now a difference of scale than category.
