Idk, Putins actions are pretty rational to me whether I like or dislike/agree or disagree with them. It's really simple, NATO isn't allowed to be on Russia's borders, I have cause to remove the pro NATO goverment that exists, nobody is going to do shit about it, I get what I want and what is in Russias best interest. That's before you bring in the Donbaus situation.
Sure but is it really rational to react to the irrational especially if the 'rational' course of action is this or nukes?
Dude's supposed to be better at political manuevering than us, he should've figured out something else than this shit. Especially since the one probable reaction NATO would do would be to DOUBLE FUCKING DOWN. Guess what NATO/Americaorgermanyorpolandidfkwithamoustache is doing?

Like I get being tired of all this fakeass political shit, but damn.

Alright after some elden ring, a hole in the drywall and a good nights sleep ive changed my mind on what I want to happen

I want Ukraine to fall but as it does so much "brutal footage of dead (volksturmed) citizens" is released into western media that the western powers autstically delcare war on Russia in retaliation or some weird article 5 shit

China and russia enact mutual defense pact and china steamrolls Taiwan in a weekend

Combined sino-russian army invades western Europe and Russia finally gets that warm water port

rename kyiv to kiev and gdanks to danzig to make maps look better

Not be an authoritarian dictator that had to personally worry about his power over people.

Russians by and large don't seem to like this war at all and are getting slammed by the police there for protesting. Definitely actions of an honest actor on the world stage.
There's like 200 people at each of these protests and you still aren't addressing how you'd deal with the encroachment of America and NATO.

Is anyone else hopeful that escalation leads to backing off of COVID hysteria? For example, the US government wouldn’t want citizens to become desensitized to travel.gov’s travel advisories. Spamming DO NOT TRAVEL on every fucking country with a positive Wu Flu test is going to cause people to treat the advisories as a meme and end up vacationing in literal warzones.

What is Putin supposed to do? Just let NATO encroach further and further towards his borders until the options are nuclear war or him hanging outside the Kremlin? I'm not even shitting on you, what would you realistically do in his shoes?
This is some brain dead shit. There was 0 chance of Ukraine joining NATO in the short or medium term. You have to have all settled borders and no disputes to join. The Crimea and other issues would have to be settled and that wasn't happening anytime soon. I can't believe how many people have globbed onto something that was obviously just Russia throwing out justifications when they were trying to figure out an excuse to turn Ukraine into a vassal.

Have you paid attention to what has happened in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, UK, and several other "free countries" for the past 2 years?

Compared to NATO leaders such as Joe Biden, Boris Johnson, and Justin Trudeau?
Well, yeah. Trudeau's response to the truck protests was troubling, sure, but it's obviously not the same as murdering people just for writing critical articles about you. Anyway, you can condemn one without defending the other.
Thread has reached a critical mass and is now officially infected with Russaboos.
Hey, now. I've been a devoted Russaboo ever since I first picked up "Ten Days that Shook the World" as a teenager. Doesn't mean I have to slobber all over Putin, though.

"China steamrolls Taiwan in a weekend"

Lol!

This is said to be a gathering of Russian anti-war protesters in Saint Petersburg last night. There is definitely opposition to the war domestically in Russia and personally I think if the war doesn't end soon the protests could possibly get worse even if there are crackdowns.
