By that definition, EVERYTHING is a precursor to Article 5 being invoked. And Article 5 being invoked is a hell of a long way from a spontaneous draft and even FURTHER away from people being dropped into combat with "two weeks" of training, You're unhinged.

Russian troops have captured a position in Mariupol from the veteran Ukrainian 53rd Brigade.

And, surprise. surprise, apparently they found a "Right Sector" (Ukrainian Far-Right group) hideout right under the Ukrainian positions in a literal basement. Apparently, the right sector guys just left their flags, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. -esque patches and literal membership cards lying around in there.

To me, this seems way too convenient to be anything but a Russian glowop to justify their narrative on the Ukranians.

Pasta requires water. It’s good for like natural disasters and general distress but for an actual war I think you’ll rather want MREs and the like.

Most of the money goes to absolute waste. We can’t just go by the numbers here. The F-35 is the worst example and is basically a useless plane.

This isn't the old WW2ish days where you'd have 3-4 soldiers in logistics and other support for every 1 soldier fighting

Mechanization and other modern logistics shit has cut way down on the number of soldiers you need behind the line to keep the fighting soldiers supplied in the field

If the number of Russian soldiers actually fighting was only ten or twenty thousand total across 3-4 fronts they'd have got zerged and there'd have been no successful advances into Ukraine anywhere

In this case its actually true, this thread is full of people who have no idea how dirty the conflict got in 2014-2015 after the coup. The Azov Batallion, actual Neo-Nazis, went from village to village just burning down houses and liquidating people in the separatist regions. The Azovites have essentially been incorporated into the Ukranian military since then as well. For the first time since the 1940s a government does need to be de-nazified.
