"objective indicators of economics growth" aren't worth as much as some think

take for example a guy working at a steel mill making 1000 dollars, or a prostitute sucking dicks for 1000 dollars - one is doing productive work, the other isn't, but to the gdp statistics there is zero difference between those, both register as 1000 dollars of economic activity
How that's relevant to ukrainan economy? Do you know that recent increase in Ukrainan GDP is due to development of agricultural companies, not sucking dicks?

China's invasion of Taiwan will be the biggest lolcow invasion the world has ever seen. I'd love to see how the PLA coordinates the largest amphibious invasion in world history without a joint command. The PLA doesn't talk between army groups much less between the air/ground/sea forces. This isn't something new, either; the CCP has explicitly stopped any attempt at a joint command for the PLA, because they're terrified their army will enact Chinese Revolution Part 2.

It will certainly be more hilarious than people who think the US Navy is, for some reason, just going to sit in the Strait with their asses hanging out for bootleg Chinese fighters to launch missiles at them.
Keep underestimating the chinese at your own peril, they already have a supercarrier being built and their ASMLs are good enough for the Navy to admit we don't have any proper countermeasures.

That "copycat" fighter? smaller radar signature than even the F22 because they figured out how to launch a missile without leaving the doors open for every radar in a thousand miles to spot you. And they have already build hundreds of it, its not like the Su-57 of which there are less than 20.
The RADAR doesn’t work.
It works now.

But the engine's nozzle its melting.
the waffen ss and wehrmacht had divisions from basically all soviet occupied nations, and most other european countries as well, including russia itself, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Liberation_Army

turns out that spending most of the 1930s brutalizing and massacring his subjects made stalins state extremely unpopular with a lot of people, there was no shortage of men willing to take up arms against the ussr when given the opportunity, anywhere
Would be good to know how many civilian casualties of the nazis in Ukraine were due to ethnic cleansing and how many were just getting even with the russians and local commies who were living large as the ukranians were starving during the holodomor.

Kicking Russia off SWIFT might just hurt countries who need Russian gas and titanium (aerospace, medical etc.), as I and many surely said The West has a plague of urban bugmen, so I wonder if Russia might last out this sort of thing better, gopniks aren't too soft, dunno. Anyhow the sanctions include kicking Russia from Eurovision and Russia-Ukraine club int matches on neutral ground, ie nothing much but meme shit.
Russia won't get kicked out of SWIFT because if that happens Russia will just start selling their oil in something other than dollars and given they are the second biggest oil producer in the world, doing that would severely fuck the dollar.

regardless of what you think of zelensky, it is pretty chad of him to go down fighting with his country than to flee to poland or france
It takes balls to go down fighting, but his total lack of reluctance to get civilians to go zerg rush Russian forces makes me respect him a lot less. If he knows he's gonna lose he should surrender, no point in causing a bunch of senseless deaths, especially among people that aren't even in the military.

Kicking Russia out of SWIFT makes payments to Russia financially more complicated and expensive, but it doesn't really make those transactions impossible. There is however a real
problem for SWIFT in being politicized like this because every time its done now, it gets alot of people thinking more seriously about creating an alternative system. China in particular.
The more SWIFT is seen as a weapon used by the United States against its enemies, the less the general world trusts it.

Someone linked videos of a Ukranian posting videos during the invasion

He just wants to be written off as the "President that stayed" rather than "The comedian president who fled"
Okay? He’s still staying to fucking die for his country.

I’m not even on Ukraine’s side and I’m getting tired of this shit where everyone has to have ulterior motives. Nobody can possibly be a hero in this age.

I mean that's all well and good, but what would they even sell the oil in? The ruble is as worthless as the paper it's printed on these days.

lol if they started demanding gold instead though.

I'd rather have him than Biden. Low hanging fruit to say that, but the man at least has balls.
