Has anyone followed up on the Manhunt book that had ftms big mad? I was curious enough to read it but after the author confirmed would be a "horny af" story of self-indulgent petty revenge with JKR dying horribly at the start as a selling point... I kinda decided to not spend time or money on it.

The way others peddling the book for him described it, it has me wondering if any kiwi snagged it for the sake of posting highlights.
Last I saw on Goodreads, troons and shield maidens were defending it from transphobic one-star reviews by giving it 5.

ETA- calling it, the trans women only have Robbie along for his mangina.
Since the book only came out officially this week, I think sorting by recent is the best way to get a real feel for how the book is being received.

This critical review was interesting:
unfortunately the world of manhunt is defined by self-hatred to an almost comical degree. if you wanted to satirize the "narcissism" of trans women that people who hate us talk about, i don't know if you could do a better job than this: it's incredible how much the women in this book worry about how clocky they are. maybe "internalized transmisogyny" is the real plague?

@behindyourightnow read and reviewed a sample chapter, but I don't know if she's planning to tackle the book or not and I wouldn't force her to. I can't remember if any booklovers volunteered to jump on that live grenade (I know I won't).

When even the niche audience you're aiming for thinks you're going too far, you really fucked up. :story: Good on this person for at least having some self awareness.

Kiwis, am I less of a woman because I wear a fucking watch?
Yes, sorry. Your binder and packer are in the mail.

I would but 12 bucks is a little steep for an ebook I'll only read a third of at most.

Maybe me and him can get together and discuss how hard ruling a country is.
Finland is not a country

Some FtM/transmasc nonsense:

I hope someone told her that wristwatches are for girls

You know, I never understood people who say a simple word could make them squeamish - a classic example is "moist".

However, the modern troon has ruined the word euphoria so thoroughly and completely for me that even seeing the word in the context of the HBO show still makes me want to immediately throw up. If I hear you say you're euphoric, I am now instantly skeptical of you and will assume, unless presented significant evidence to the contrary, that you've installed or are about to install either an amhole or Schrödinger's flesh tube.
That HBO show should probably make you throw up, it's not "gender euphoria" that they're talking about, but it's still just as fetishy and predatory.

But for me, the word that makes my skin crawl is "bodies". I have no idea why SJWs decided that referring to people as "bodies" was progressive, but it makes me cringe every singe time.

The other word ruined for me is the title of one of the best YA novels of the late 90s, Holes. Thankfully, when we had a work meeting recently about using the term "front hole" in the context of patient care (I'm volunteering to help out an understaffed rural EMS service) the women in the company weren't having it. They said female patients shouldn't have their bodies reduced to non-accurate descriptions just because a few men chopped off their dicks and turned their scrotums into fuck pockets. And they're absolutely right.

Gives me hope too, as I live and work in arguably the most dysfunctionally left wing part of the US.

Most Troons would be thrilled to get rape threats. It’d validate their delusions of womanhood.

All one needs to do is look up the overlap between Reddit Troons talking about their gender euphoria on Trans subreddits and those who post on the fetish subs talking about their desire to get spit roasted by two massive black dudes on each end ("unconsensually", every time) to see sadly how often your claim is validated.

Never in my life would I have seen someone say that puberty (the natural process of becoming a man/woman) is such a burden as to constitute a life or death struggle. I'm sure it can be a confusing time, but to say that teenagers actually need help with it kind of implies they're either too stupid or too weak to deal with something every single person goes through, in life.
I’ve mentioned this before but I’ve got vague wishy washy theory About how in western society we don’t really have the “coming of age” ceremony thing that p much every other culture does when a kid starts puberty, and that accepts it for the big deal it is, validates That it will be hard but demonstrates community back up and that it’s a proud and exiting thing to do, to move forward and shit...
Whereas this troon shit really is the new eating disorder, where they are avoiding adulthood.
There’s even one or two popping up now asking to be on blockers forever and never take either sex hormones

I've spent a lot of time job hunting on LinkedIn and LinkedIn allows people to put pronouns in their bios. I've never seen any very male person with female pronouns and I've only ever seen one they/them. This leads me to believe LinkedIn is bereft of troons because its for job hunting and networking, and troons are incapable of gainful employment and maintaining connections. Hardly shocking given what we know about troons, but something that bears mentioning. Also, two girls I'm friends with from college have their pronouns in their bios on LinkedIN. Despite being friends with them for a few years and interacting with them face-to-face numerous times, I always give pause whenever I see any post from them because me defualt reaction upon seeing female pronouns in a bio is to assume that person is 100% male.

Maybe, but i think that its more to do with misogyny than anything else and come of age rituals don't have place in the xxi century, i don't think that this something exclusively of the west, like where i live only natives do that sort of thing the closets that we have of a coming of age are 15 birthday parties for girls and also in the past it was common to bring your son to a brothel when he turns 18. Nice point, but in my humble opinion isn't just that its also a product of our times, you know, communities aren't as closes as they used to be in the past, life is fast paced and so on.

This person is a lolcow in their own right and even for a troon gets offended at the simplist of things, no matter the subject they complain every day about "transphobia" in the UK

I agree, but in a broader sense that most troons who are not extremely gnc homosexuals come from atomized suburban homes. They don’t interact with many adults aside from their parents and teachers. Their parents don’t expect them to get a job or a license. The only rite of passage they get is, maybe, Confirmation at the local sad Catholic parish where the confirmation teachers can’t enforce any rules because then the parents will take their kids to another program.
