Realistically, is there any way Putin gets assassinated?
Seems exceedingly unlikely. He's the leader of a global superpower, and one that is particularly known for their expertise in and fondeness for glowie shit and assassinations. Hell, Putin himself is ex-KGB, speaking of expertise in and fondness for glowie shit. Unless he gets fucked over by his inner circle, like Stalin with the Doctors' Plot, then it seems doubtful to me, and even in that case it's no guarantee.

I could hypothetically see something completely outrageous happening, like the US could fight dirty, and surprise drone strike him while he's passing through an airport or other known time/place, like they did with Qasem Soleimani, but I highly doubt the US would be willing to make that move. It would almost certainly trigger all-out war, a full nuclear exchange.

Near Beresteiska metro station in Kyiv

It is reported that this is "apparently the destruction of the base of the 101st brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the military commandant's office of Kyiv is also located there.

The object is held by the combined forces of the 101st brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Kyiv Terodefense"

ngl. from what i’ve been seeing russia is having a hard time. anything less than a decisive victory for russia will spell utter humiliation for them. they are fighting a force that isn’t as well equipped as them, smaller numbers, etc. if it ends in a ceasefire or the ukraine holding its own, russia is still getting sanctioned, putin is gonna be disgraced and the economy of his country is gonna be fucked up. i just cannot see this boding well for him unless he achieves a decisive victory and unconditional surrender from the ukraine.

>The US bombing troops in Ukraine
Go ahead retards, get nuked. Article 5 doesn't only apply to those in your shitty alliance, you know?
I kinda hope they do. That way we can finally get a “Hogan’s Heroes” remake only this time the guards will be Russian.

It makes no sense. Like the CDC sees that Russia is invading Ukraine and says, "Quick! We need to shift our Covid monitoring away from overall case counts and toward numbers of severe cases!" At this point you may as well start connecting things with red string on a corkboard.
I could see how it happens. The WH fears a war, and knows the demographics they need to fight it hate the status quo, so they lean the relevant organisations to cool it with those things that piss said demographics off, such as covid fearmongering. This would in theory improve their morale, making them think "At least there's some common sense left".
"objective indicators of economics growth" aren't worth as much as some think

take for example a guy working at a steel mill making 1000 dollars, or a prostitute sucking dicks for 1000 dollars - one is doing productive work, the other isn't, but to the gdp statistics there is zero difference between those, both register as 1000 dollars of economic activity
IMO a better example of GDP as a bad metric is that it doesn't count unpaid work, like DIY projects or friends/family trading favours, or barter transactions. If you hire a nanny to take care of the baby that increases GDP, even if the wife wastes all that extra time. If you take your car to a mechanic because a single bulb is out this creates GDP, while doing it yourself doesn't. At least a hooker provides a service you can't do yourself.
Yeah she was but at least she didn't look like a fucking NYC subway bag lady
Is this some kind of flex? "We send a complete tramp to deliver our message because everyone knows that we can vaporize you in an instant, we don't need to put on a show. "

Nigger this is only the second (third?) day of the war

The interesting duality of "Sanctions won't do shit" and "These sanctions are way too harsh, Russia will have nothing else to lose".

The best part is the worst of the damage has been self inflicted, the Moscow Market getting rather raped following the invasion.
In the long run, Russia can survive sanctions. They almost wrote the playbook for it during the Cold War by insulating their economy and filling briefcases full of USD to sling across the Turkish border for whatever they needed to import.

But it is also undeniable that sanctions would hurt them and also denying material support to someone you consider an enemy is probably a Good Idea.

Haven't been keeping track, twitter is gay, new sources are jerking off the fog of war, and the Highlight features is autistic. KF has become my only place for sources. how are things right now? Still contained to Russia and Ukraine? Just want to know if things happened to be bad enough to panic.
