This all but explicitly confirms the speakers had no idea what they were signing on for lmao. I can imagine they reached out to however many public figures and said "hey we're doing this conference for you american conservatives and the focus is 'america first' and we'd love to have you speak at it" and they don't look into it and then just show up without having a single fucking clue what is going on

None of the actual politicians did. Maybe they're sellouts, maybe they're just boomers who have no idea what's going on. In either case, never depend on anyone in politics to give a shit about you unless you're directly working with them.

the real tragedy here is that groypers will see this and view it as a win without any regard to how or why it is trending. Without even checking twitter I can guarantee with almost 100% certainty that it's mostly just shitlibs hand wringing about how bad this is and maybe a handful of token groypers running damage control. I remember back in 2017 when Richard Spencer's whole thing was "no publicity is bad publicity" and that was one of the main contentions that Fuentes took against him. The thing is, at the time, that was actually a solid criticism, It came out of a place of genuine concern, and there were sincere reasons to take issue with it. Fast forward ~5-6 years and now Fuentes is doing the same thing with even less introspection and nuance. It's tragic at worst and laughable at best.
