They keep making excuses for Ukraine and Georgia, when Turkey shot down the Russian plane in Syria there was immediate distancing from other NATO members, the Moldovan-owned, Japanese-owned and Turkish-owned cargo ships don't count because mental gymnastics and so on and so forth. Macron is a fucking moron but he was completely right when he said that NATO is braindead. That's why I legitimately think that the Baltics and Poland may be fucked. Yes, and due to the mutual defence nature of NATO, that means all three would almost certainly join in the event of a defensive call to arms. That being said, NATO doesn't want to go to war with Russia due to their nukes and thus overlooks neutral ship strikes in a war zone

First, 75th Ranger and 82nd Airborne were actually in the middle of planning another operation: Revenge for the Beirut Barracks Bombing.

They had NO fucking maps. They had to rely on tourist maps they grabbed from a travel agent.

The SEALS got airdropped into the water. From too high up. Over half of them drowned.

The beach landings were fucked.

Two units ended up doing a fucking amphibious attack on Barbados. Nicely done.

The air force couldn't talk to the Navy who couldn't talk to the Army because EVERYONE'S RADIOS WERE FUCKING INCOMPATIBLE.

Call signs were fucked up.

The Air Force and Navy twice did air strikes on US forces. Once hitting the TOC. Nicely done.

It was so fucking bad it ended up in a Congressional fucking Commissioned and EVERYTHING was overhauled. From the amount of ammo you carried to radio frequencies to fucking tire tread.

It was such a cluster fuck that the fallout was felt for YEARS as the entire US military modernized based on that gigantic cluster fuck.

I actually didn't know about anything of this. I thought the main complaint about Urgent Fury was that Grenada was too insignificant of a country to warrant a operation on that scale.

The guy who posted it didn't say the Russians have stopped using them, he just said they don't have many left in service. Ukraine is using a fuck ton of them, however, so the logic is sound that it was likely friendly fire.

Russians did technically violate Turkish airspace when that jet got shot down. But my general point is that NATO uses any fucking excuse possible to avoid doing shit when it comes to a possible confrontation with a major power. When I say NATO "distancing", I mean that everyone immediately got on their knees and started kissing Russia's ass to avoid even the slightest impression that they were anything other than 100% totally opposed to big, bad Turkey. When taken in combination with NATO's behavior in every other situation related to Russia, you start to see a pattern emerge and that pattern is "NATO are fucking pussies and their opposition can do whatever the fuck they want as long as they have nukes".
