I feel you there. It has been a good long time since I've genuinely felt joy messing with tech. But I'm too addicted to let any of it go. At least for my part I have everything wired that I can.

Last time I was having fun was probably a few years back when I helped a family member convert their phone outlets to an Ethernet network. Turns out that new construction puts in phone outlets to every room for the boomers but they wire it with cat5e because that shit is cheap and plentiful. Real simple and everything has been running so much better while plugged in.

What the fuck is that kind of instructions to set up?! I mean, it is better than what I was stuck on but fuck off with that shit.

The extender was a Xiaomi one that I found at a pawn shop for cheap, but I sold it next day to one of my coworkers at the same price. Sad to see that Linksys are doing the same at certain level.

I miss the days that you only had to enter the ip adress on your browser to set up your router.

Kandalf gathered the dragons to build a town they could not have built alone. [2] Kandalf named the place KDEValley and the dragons began to refer to themselves as the "KDE Dragons". Kandalf worked as the new town's ambassador of the time, communicating with other colonies across the Flossland as well as inviting more dragons to the town. Konqi was the first dragon who joined Kandalf. He worked under Kandalf as his assistant. [3]

I got my discord account locked out of the blue like last year & the animal fuckers over at discord have the fucking balls to demand a phone number from me just to use their shit platform. Not just any phone number mind you but it has to be a phone number specificallyfrom AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. I think psrint was in there somewhere but sprint last I heard got bought out by one of the other 3.

Be careful what you wish for, every time a cancer like Discord dies it's replaced by something that's somehow even worse. And of course the same people who went "nooo we can't use Mumble or IRC or anything else, how are we ever going to get people to use it???" will start relentlessly shilling the new flavor of the year thing to everyone they know until they can say "well, everyone else is already here, so...".
It's all so tiresome.

I'd rather just host my own matrix server. Dynamic DNS services are a thing, duck dns is one of them. Plus compared to discords bullshit you wouldn't have to worry about being banned because you own the server. Not to mention people who are to busy shoving stuff up their own ass to learn how to setup a server can quite literally pay for server hosting. The options are there but these fucks want to make everybody else suffer because they are lazier than me.

I like Discord as a chatroom. That’s what it is for. But anyone who uses it instead of a github or website needs to die in a fire.

to me, the POS software that grinds my balls in is Windows Defender; shits so defensive over literally anything (despite y'know, me being the admin of the fucking computer) and I fail to see why people would put their faith in a Microsoft(c) approved virus defender when it'd be easier to do their own upkeep

It always eats up a bunch of memory and shit and has the audacity to say it’s “protected your pc” because it’s convinced some old piece of software is a virus and won’t let you run it, period.

Protip:
Add all your drives to its exclusions list.

For android I suggest the newpipe app. You can get it either from github or fdroid. If you're on desktop I suggest freetube. Yes freetube is coded in electron but it's still a pretty good app. I know some people just play videos with mpv & other apps but I don't remember their names.
