Looks like a rocket hit, a molotov wouldn't tear up the side skirts like that. Obviously not crippling of itself, but any fire being sustained off of the tank's own fluids has the potential to go very bad. Either the crew's oblivious, or they think they can get it back to somewhere safe and salvage it.

Russian column on the move north of Berdyansk


Berdyansk is east of Melitopol but south of Zaporizhzia. The Zaporizhia Oblast is northeast of Crimea and is apparently an important part of Ukraine's agriculture and industry. It seems from the footage that Melitopol was secured by the Russians but fighting continues elsewhere.

No I think there is a ton of disinformation being deliberately spread among western social media accounts and if it fits the narrative it gets recycled. Since most russian ips are banned off most social media platforms since 2016 or earlier we don't get to see the other sides propaganda very much.

Paradoxically it makes the other sides info more reliable.

I can't say that there's anything particularly honorable about arming civilians and risk increasing casualties.

Drafting abled men isn't much of a shocker but I wonder the state of the war when possibly unskilled men are throw into direct combat.

People love to romanticize military drafts and the figure of the "last man standing" but I suspect that in reality most wars have more draft dodgers than one would imagine.

Are you a civilian in a country that's about to be devastated by war? Get out of it as soon as possible and go defend your family instead. You're doing more to keep the spirit of the "motherland" alive by keeping yourself alive and passing onwards your cultural values than by dying as cannon fodder.

All the talk about defending "motherland" rings hollow when the future of a country gets negotiated somewhere on a table by UN figureheads covering up their corruption with their God-complex. "Motherland" gets sold off no matter who wins the war.

Which is to say that the only silver lining in this story is the utter exposure of worldwide governmental and media hypocrisy —the propaganda passed off as news coverage is so explicitly devoid of any concrete nuance to a point where it's insulting to one's intelligence.

No matter who wins or lose there's nothing to praise about Slavs killing fellow Slavs while war profiteering countries get to pose as bastions of human rights on social media.

Might as well enjoy the televised global circus while it lasts.
