I'm planning on eventually subbing to all NijiEN but there's one person I'm still hesitant of, that being Nina.
From what I've seen in colabs she's toned down the honey stuff a ton. My only thought now is politics. What's the worst she's said? I mean are we talking about talking about politics Kiara supports (modern day that is) or are we talking more Futakuchi Mana?

And yes I know she's not bringing it in the streams, obviously. But just like knowing Gura or Kiara's history makes me respect them more; knowing Nina's history could make me respect her less.

Yeah Yugo 100% has a woman roommate. She seems to be a good singer, too. The way they type and the grammar issues they have does make me think they're Japanese but that's just a rrat. It's an interesting pick, for sure.

As for the song, I think it's better than GSA and HitD solely on the basis that the lyrics aren't awkward. I think it has a weaker beat than both of them, though. All around it's pretty good.

Sadly I won't be able to watch the debuts live tonight because my sleeping schedule is fucked beyond belief.

EDIT: The more I listen to it, the more it grows on me.

Here's the highlight of the EN off-collab for me. Kronii's enthusiasm, Mumei and Ina trying not to laugh and failing, the fact that they were seeing most of the lines for the first time and reacting in real time. Their reaction to the "poor pussy cat" line was gold!

Now that its in a corpo enviroment, she cant say anything political without the risk of getting Rushia'd. She is now playing a character for a living so she has to bite her tongue very hard regarding her takes & perspective on being a vtuber in the past. For me its a take it or leave it, no-one can be forced to love Nina because she isnt political anymore.

She supported Putin intervention in Ukraine and called for reformation of the USSR under a vtuber bear chairman

She was big on gender politics specifically in gaming culture but that's about it from what I could be bothered watching.

A few of her fans I've seen on Reddit and YT have said that she started to hate the type of content creator she was becoming, and that her move to Nina is ultimately good for her. She's said as much on Nina, stating that she became really unhappy with herself and that it was compounded by COVID isolation.

All in all, it's difficult to even gauge if she still feels the way she does — or at least feels as strongly about it — as it's pretty much the reason she memory-holed herself and started again. In her most recent PowerWash stream, it seems that the Canadian/NA sect of NijiEN are discussing an off-collab, so I get the impression she's liked behind the scenes and isn't causing issues.

Nina is fine but may I recommend you live your best life and become an Aloupeep. Enna is the best EN tuber in a while Unless you care about how good people are at games because she is actually terrible. Her personality saves it though.

Oh shit, well I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. If she "hated the type of content creator she was becoming" and "it's pretty much the reason she memory-holed herself and started again". Then I'd say she probably went the Kiara route of realizing what she was doing and switched gears. I like redemption shit, thanks for your answer.

I was close to going schizo about her after the debut because of political baggage and honey overdose but she's not importing her old shit to niji and I can tolerate her well enough now. The mommy shtick is still obnoxious but she's not forcing this nearly as much as she did near the beginning. Hell, some of the situations involving her are even funny.

However her fanbase is garbage, just like KFPs.

It takes a while for the streamer to alter the behavior of the fanbase. I admittedly don't know much about Nina, but for the case of Kiara and KFP, Kiara's dialing back of her early schtick has done numbers to scaling back the KFP cringe. It's still there of course, but it's getting better. Especially amongst the actual paying members.
