Relay - Interesting they have Nick on the fly section of the relay, but they have him on 100yd breast instead of 100yd fly. You really need to be under 30 seconds on a 50 fly, especially on a relay, and you really need to be under 28 seconds as well. Just want to also point out that the winning team's free swimmer (Pearce Bailey) put in a pretty wicked time of sub-23 seconds, which is very fast. Very serious time, I never broke 23 seconds on a relay split.
100yd Free - You gotta be able to break 1 minute nipples. And not even the first split is under 30 seconds? That's just real slow. Anything above 56 seconds is just not very good.
100yd Breast - Arguably the worst of the times, not even being close to 1:20 is just real bad, anything above 1:20 is just bad. If you can't get any split under 40 seconds you are just not good at breast stroke. To me this time really shows lack of technique rather than strength, as breast is really a matter of proper technique especially off the wall on pull outs as opposed to raw strength. I think his short height also doesn't help here, longer legs really help with the frog kicks and his short legs probably really hurt him here.
Worst part of the conference was mainly that it was just incoherent. The entire point of a PAC conference is to refocus and reenergize the core supporters, and basically to provide marching orders and a new set of talking points for the new year. Coming out of a conference there shouldn't be any confusion as to where the PAC stands or what they are supposed to do, the fact that even the groypers don't know wtf is happening really shows you not only was it a fail in terms of outside-looking-in perspective, even the core members have no idea what happened.
Ironically this is the sort of thing that an 'intellectual leader' would be able to help out with that the groypers hate so much. A philosophical foundation and thought leaders in the movement would be able to behind the scenes come up with an intellectual basis for where the movement is supposed to go and how they are supposed to respond to current events and changes, and make sure that all their ideas follow some sort of coherent ideology. Nick kicking out the last real thinker in the America First coalition, Patrick Casey, really hurts here, as I am sure Patrick Casey would have been able to come up with something coherent here.
