That story. I have read better fanfic. I have actually read better completely degenerate porn-with-a-(thin)-plot fanfic. I have read absolute shit fanfic that was still more enjoyable.

The sentences are choppy and have no flow, no rhythm, and it's just boring. I'm amazed this was published by Tor. This was obviously a diversity publication.

To me it read like someone wrote a mediocre porn fic (too many actions within each sentence, making it seem like the characters have four arms) and did a search-and-replace on basic nouns to make it "disgusting-hot" instead of regular hot. It just seems lazy to just pair up armpits and licking and call that part of the gross-out punk genre or whatever. There are more visceral ways of creating that effect that require far more skill. And it's lazy to talk about how turned on the main character is by the fascist terf while wanting to kill her. Lazy. Boring.

Funnily enough, I wanted to troon out when I was a teenager. I eventually got over it after I realized I'd never be the real thing, learned to be okay with my biological reality, and built a life in which I'm free to present myself as I prefer through financial independence and self-confidence.

And the whole "presenting like someone of the opposite gender" is so idiotic, because by gender activists' standards, the fact that I keep my hair mostly long, occasionally wear nail polish, prefer more form-fitting tops and jeans, and shower everyday means I'm presenting female; but wearing flannels, combat boots, cargo pants, and even a fucking Casio wristwatch means I'm presenting male. What a joke, and we're meant to believe these are signs that someone needs to have their body mutilated, and their endocrine system, wrecked.

The questions in that test are all basically the same 2 questions. . Do you think you're a troon? Have you ever thought of trooning out? over and over again

I scored low so I'm not worried but it does make me question how do we determine gender dysphoria by innate sense and gender dysphoria caused by other factors as a symptom of a larger issue.
