Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Yes, this is supposed to be Star Wars themed. There's no way to actually tell other than the stairs to the left that look like the ones from the Vader duel in ESB.
Fuck, this is the gateroom of the Destiny but in white :story:

It's completely laughable, they're banking on some psychological factor where you refuse to let yourself be disappointed because of the money you spent or people who are so retarded they'd pay 100 dollars for a styrofoam cup with "Star Wars" written on it in sharpie.

It's a cool idea, in fact fyi Disney toyed with the idea of making a hotel where there was a LARP element in the form of a murder mystery guests could solve for a prize, they also considered making a hotel that actually had a ride, these ideas became the Tower of Terror ride at Hollywood studios.

But this execution is laughable, Disney's modus operandi is to spend as little money as possible while charging as much as possible, the opposite of how Walt did things.

It also just fills my heart with sadness to think of what Star Wars once was a franchise and how that's forever lost to us.
Sunk cost fallacy is a hell of a thing. The diehard consoomers will do anything to justify the ludicrous expenses for this two-day LARP and avoid confronting the reality that they got conned hard.

Hell, this applies to pretty much any disillusioned fan that still watches Disney Wars content. They don't want to admit that the franchise they've sunk years, possibly decades, into is beyond saving, so they keep on suffering through the latest D+ show in the misguided hopes that it'll get better. You see it even in this thread where people take objectively bad content and do their best to rationalize it as "not that bad," despite continued Disney Wars references, Filoni shoving his OCs everywhere, and legacy characters getting shat on over and over again.

Write off your sunk costs, and mock and laugh at what Disney produces. It's the only way to interact with this garbage.

The more I'm thinking about this, the more I realized that you don't pay $6,000 to have your star wars coom, you pay $3,000 for the two night and just be a non-LARP troll to ruin the day of all the soyboy abused wives who spend $6,000. Maybe wear a MAGA hat and an MST3K shirt to complete the ensemble.

"HEY WHERE DID HER OTHER LIGHT SABER GO!"
"HEY NAZI GUY, THESE PHONES RECORD. WE HAVE YOU ON VIDEO BEING A NAZI."
"Were you in the Mandalorian? It was such a bad show."

Sure its a lot of money to spend on some Julaay, but I'm looking at like nearly $100,000 being wasted in those videos, and your obnoxious ass will be the only part of the vacation they remember.

I miss Medieval Times. Only went once due to not liking having to eat with my hands, but it was a quality show.

There is a solution for those who are smarter than 13th century serf

Hey whoa! Hold on there buddy! What are you talking about 'in misguided hopes it'll get better'? Mando had Digizombie Luke - who hasn't aged at all from ROTJ despite that being like 10 years ago - not being a complete green soy cuck for almost TWO FULL MINUTES. And then in BOOK OF BOBA FETT, the long-awaited boba fett media that isn't a video game everyone has been cooming for since the Holiday Special, you got to see Luke building a Jedi Training ground and training BABY YODA, and having weird sexual tension with his father's former exotic teenage alien apprentice. The same temple that will be burned to ground and everyone will die making all his efforts worthless.
But how can you possibly say my hopes are misguided? That is almost 15 minutes of Luke not being a bitter old cuck that doesn't change him going out like a bitch and all his trainees being dead in 10 years.
Star Wars is clearly being saved by D+, I can't wait for Kenobi so I can borrow a subscription for $15/mo and see the Sequels totally get decanonized despite the fact the people directing the franchise saying canon doesn't matter.

Adults who go to that Star Wars hotel and don't have children with them should be redirected straight into a gas chamber.
You could even make it a show, "Oh no, it looks like Kylo Ren is using force choke on you!" spoken to you by a bad animatronic as the light fades.
The sad thing is they'd cheer if Kylo or Hux pulled the switch that dosed them with sarin gas, at least until it starts affecting them. Still wouldn't stop them from showing up even under threat of public and violent execution though.

I know we talk about this a lot on this forum and this isn't just directly related to Star Wars, but the rot that's set in in society these last ten years is terrifying, there's just something stomach turning about these people you mention.

I first noticed it in a big way in 2014, it's people that just seem fundamentally anti-human, there's a creepy emptiness to them.

It is just people that grew up fully marinated in a hyper corporate culture and never had any exposure to older things like Religion, classic literature, even classic film?

Man for $6,000.00 an awful lot of time is spent standing around looking at graphics on giant TVs.
Imagine spending that amount of money when going to Florida and not instead going to South Florida to stay at some beachside hotel where instead you can stare at women's bare butt cheeks, I know what I'd rather do.

It is literally a con job, Disney is in the business of conning marks with this hotel, you look at how hilariously cheap it looks, how much money they're charging and you realize this is not even the Disney of the Eisner era, this is a Disney of full on con artists.

I fucking hate it.

Is it contrarian to like Jango Fett more than Boba Fett? Because I do. It's like George knew he messed up with Boba in the movies and decided to give Jango actual character traits and a slightly cooler costume to make up for it.
Not at all, Jango is basically the Chad, Uber version of Boba in every way, cooler and sleeker costume, way more clever and actually does shit as a bounty Hunter rather than fucking up whilst looking cool doing it. He’s honestly one of the best thing about attack of the clones. That’s one thing you can really praise the prequels for, despite the lousy characterisation, writing, and dialogue, the films were made with genuine imagination and do have really cool designs for creatures, mechanics, machines, settings, droids that add a lot of good stuff to the SW universe.

I’ll never forget how awesome these droideka looked as a kid, they’re so aesthetically pleasing even now, and their rolling fold out design is just friggin cool from a design standpoint. Prequels had brilliant droid designs.

It’s time for me to get going with the lightsaber duels, particularly the OT because they’re god tier.

Here’s the original fight that started it all: Obi Wan vs Vader from A New Hope.

I know the fight choreography feels a bit awkward because this was the first time Lucas was attempting to film a lightsaber fight, but this is a emotionally involving fight like the rest of the OT fights. Ignoring the fuck ups Nu Kenobi and the Disney timeline as well, it was gut wrenching to see Anakin and Obi Wan see each other, shells of them former selves, for the first time in twenty years since their emotionally turbulent duel on Mustafar. The technical limitations of this fight scene actually benefits to the film and it’s story. I like how Obi Wan is intentionally being defensive by nature while Anakin, still harboring feelings of rage against the man he feels is responsible for Padme’s death, is being cautious since the last time didn’t end so well.

This fight to me also does what the original trilogy is best at: providing emotional depth. The short fight that ends with Obi Wan sacrificing himself to Anakin was so paramount to A New Hope’s story because not only did it allow our heroes to escape with the plans, but I also feel it would also help Anakin see the light at the end of ROTJ. Had it not been for the sacrifice, I don’t think Anakin would’ve realized that the young Rebel pilot who blew up the Death Star would be his own son, which sets up the great conflict he would have in ESB and ROTJ. This is a emotionally powerful fight scene that can easily ignores its visual limitations.

Next up: The Cloud City Duel (The Iconic Meeting of the Last Two Laser Masters)

That's not a terrible plot device to get Obi off Tatooine, but opens the plot hole of Leia not recognizing Kenobi.
Yeah, it's not like Bail is the monarch of a wealthy planet and has the means to recruit a team of the baddest dudes in the galaxy to get her back or anything.
I just can't help but think the only 30+ consoomers that'd actually pay for this would be spectrum, socially awkward ones.
I would love to know who thought of this and actually signed off on it because everything I see and hear about it just boggles the mind at how ill-considered it was.

Personally I feel that Jango's existence in and of itself detracts substantially from who Boba was, since Jango is basically just there to be another Boba Fett except he had very few of Boba's iconic elements beyond sharing a profession and some equipment alongside the fact that his prominence completely destroys the myserious elements of Boba's character and turns him into, ironically, a clone of his father except with a cooler spaghetti western aesthetic. Most of Boba's coolness was a result of expanded stories written in the old EU which were relevant enough to make their way into regular pop-culture as pretty much anyone who's even vaguely knowledgeable about nerd shit will know that Palpatine and Boba come back to life (both in Dark Empire, funnily enough) and do some shit even though they'll usually say it's stupid because god forbid they actually fucking read it.

That's way stupid. What's wrong with you.
Obviously no one would want to see Bail coming to tatooine to recruit Old man boomer Kenobi to lead a team of the galaxy's worst scum including a teen-aged Boba Fett planning a rescue while dodging imperial security.
its disney. They would find a way to make it bad

With their rapid-firing blasters and portable shields, these droids were badass. Took me some time to find the action figure that was part of the Ep I toyline when I was a kid.

Hottest take on planet Earth: It's entirely possible to have well choreographed, fast paced lightsaber fight scenes that push the story forward narratively and emotionally. It's just that the people making the post OT movies were never talented enough to do both. You can have both.

The PT duels aren't all bad but they peaked with the Maul fight in TPM and the sequel trilogy fights are just embarrassing.

Jedi/Clone armor is so damn cool, embracing the “knight” aesthetic really fits the Prequel Jedi. Since they were pretty much samurai transitioning into European knights,

Fucking with soyboys is always worth it. Especially if it’s a convention or something that they’ll remember.
