Ukraine reminds me of the little kid who gets bullied by some asshole, so he finds another asshole to simp for, as a way to deal with the original bully. Except the other asshole isn't really invested much in beating up the original asshole but just in a polite manners answers like "yeah sure, kid" which the kid takes the wrong way as support.
