I don't believe that. I believe Putin was entirely aware of the costs of doing this, including sanctions and the possibility of getting bogged down some time before victory, and he coldly and calculatedly went and did it anyway, while somewhat uncharacteristically going about it in a more civilized way than your usual blatantly illegal under international law invasion.
I think he's terminally ill and wants to take the world with him

I'm just gotta leave this here

EU announced that they will be founding weapons for Ukraine. EU as whole - von der Leyen just stated that. Probably they just make some math and will go into very heavy economic war with Russia.
the EU doesnt have to spend much money to realy fuck with the russians. just unload the stuff that has been sitting around in warehouses waiting to be old enough to be sold to africa and every ukrainian can have an antitank rocket....

Yes of course, but it doesn't matter where he fires. The moment he fires it's game over for him. And that is also considering all his subordinates are also 100% gonna listen to him and fire.
Its over for us, and everyone too. Literal end of the world scenario

then in that case whats next?
lets say russia fell to ukraine, and they incorperated russia would putin stop? or keep going else where?
Invading Ukraine is one thing. But attacking NATO countries is beyond any military capability they have.
They are not going to march into Poland or attack Sweden. Geographically they have nowhere to go
after this war.

No, even he realizes that is probably not going to happen now. He doesn't need complete conquest. At a MINIMUM he needs Ukraine to recognize the two provinces are now Russian and a guarantee of neutrality.
I would not be surprised at all if this ends with Ukraine kissing the ring and taking an L of some sort in return for Putin getting whatever he actually wanted out of this, which I don't think is "complete conquest" anyway. Then he gets to look magnanimous on top of getting what he wanted in the first place.

This also effectively defangs Zelensky et al for the foreseeable future. The people saw he can't do dick about Putin just rolling over the border and grabbing shit whenever he feels like it. So I can see them going for a more moderate government that's at least on good enough terms with Moscow that tanks aren't rolling over the border routinely.

And if they somehow fuck up and "accidentally" send a shell onto the wrong side of any of those borders, any positions affected will certainly return fire.
