I don't think "repelled" in the sense of the Russians were sent into headlong retreat even throwing their vodka away in their haste to flee, more like "they attacked but didn't break through and roflstomp us like they wanted"
This was their claim, while there was a video of Russians in the city center half an our before this.

How will this affect the average citizen?

As far as I understood, the average Russki doesn't even buy anything from the west, the vast majority of goods are either domestic, neighbours or China, all of which don't even have to trade via US dollar.

I recall reading articles ( in regards to the Japanese yen, when their economy was seriously booming in the 1980's ) that said that having a too strong yen was a bad thing, as overseas customers would have a bad exchange rate vs the yen; they'd be able to afford less japanese goods as a result, and would be more likely to seek out cheaper alternatives elsewhere. Having said that, I'm not saying a falling rouble is good, just wondering if it's really relevant in a time when, due to the past 15 years of sanctions and whatnot, everything they used to buy from the west, they started to manufacture themselves, or at worst, trade with China instead.
If your country is dependent on imports, then your currency losing relative value is bad. Russia does import some stuff but they can probably get by mostly fine in the long-term. Big exception is food - Russian food output is mostly good but it sometimes has really bad years (with the most recent period being in the early 2010s). When that happens next, the ruble being low in value is going to be disastrous because it means food prices are going to skyrocket.

Talks are scheduled along the Ukraine/Belarus border in the exclusion zone. Putin has placed the nuclear arsenal on high alert. Early reports that Kiev is now cut off and surrounded. Either the war ends soon, or it starts getting really fucking ugly.
I just saw the Russian nuclear alert a few moments ago and wow. Shit really is getting real.

My cousin's place out in the boonies in Tennessee is starting to look really good right now, I just may take some sudden time off at work and head out for a visit... what's the consensus, farmers; are we gonna be playing Fallout in real life or is Putin just trying to get our panties in a twist?

Edit:

Though I have to admit, if we could do that 'sacrifice of Abraham' thing from that old movie Fail-Safe and offer a US city to get nuked to appease, I happy recommend Portland or San Francisco.

Say anything against the Coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions that constricted your life; Your selfish and a murderer. Say anything against Black Lives Matter who burn your cities and demonize you for crimes you weren't alive to commit; Your a rascist and a bigot. Say anything against Ukraine that's been put on a pedestal by a mainstream media, who think of you as a mindless animal at best, and an incompetent government, that hates you at most; Your evil and psychotic.
Take your meds schizo, or at least wear your glasses because I never said this you hysterical faggot:

From r/Ukraine. How the war is being reported in Romania apparently. Two thirds of the Russian Army defeated in four days but Kiev also surrounded.

"We're surrounded and the underdogs and being genocided and fighting for our very existence and in dire need of Western support, but also winning easily."

Hmm.

So how long before the faggot jannies decide that this thread needs to be shut down under the bullshit excuse of "but the number of pages makes it impossible to moderate!!!!" Boohoohoohoohoo!! :'(

Sounds like a fucking feature. But when you're a janny in league with the Zionist Occupied Government and need to purge wrongthink, I guess it looks more like a bug. Well the only bugs here are you, jannies.

On ground reporters just published this photo showing the Ghosts of Kyiv, a group of soldiers who have singlehandedly taken down several Russian Mumakil and are set to relieve Kiev of it's siege.
yes we get it, "ghost of kyiv" is retarded and so are redditors who post it, can we please go a page of this thread without another copypasted unoriginal meme about it?

Remember when Ukrainians claimed they had repelled all Russian forces from Kharkiv? They were full of shit yet again, and the battle is still ongoing.

Yeah, I don't even know what to believe anymore. This 9 second video could be showing dead Ukrainian soldiers, dead RF soldiers, or it could be a clip from some other Eastern European shithole in the last 10 years.

It will be really bad in the short term. But ironically, food is something they won't have to worry about with the Ukraine either annexed or firmly within their sphere of influence. Russia and Belarus also has all the industrial infrastructure needed to produce fertilizer. What will hurt is advanced and modern machine and industrial equipment.

Yeah, very convenient to shoot some random civvies and blame ruskies for that. Slava Ukraini.
Russians are good in murdering innocent people and this is very probable for them to do.

This animals didn't have any problems with setting a hospital in fire, bombing a village or killing POV's. That is one of the reasons why all of Europe is supporting Ukraine.

Russia is import for one reason: that shithole is provider of coal and LPG. Probably just after western powers will knock-off russian nuclear pottential Russia will see some kind of "stabilization mission" on their soil.

And it's probably true if you use some arbitrary definition of what is and isn't Kharkov so the one platoon of Russians that was inside the arbitrary line getting wiped out means all Russian units in Kharkov eliminated and Ukrainians in full control inside the arbitrary line while all the other Russians just outside the line "awkshoolly aren't IN Kharkov see"

Are you still crying about this? A replacement thread started almost immediately and continues today, and xenforo is known to be trash.
