"Current year" terms that piss you off

"Inclusivity". When we all know what that means.

Anytime someone has to use "the letter word" in describing a slur. Stop being afraid of words. Jesus. It's the entire fucking reason we've gotten to this point to fucking begin with.

"Accessibility". I'm sick of devs using that as an excuse to make shit (or otherwise dumb down) games.
You're a B.A.N. Real talk.

I'd like to think that most individuals can separate "intent" and "context", but then you see how black folks react whenever someone's using "the N-word" (I hate using that fucking phrase to describe it) within historical context. Professors getting fired left and right all because they read something SOMEONE ELSE fucking wrote. Shit, they won't even allow people to read Huck Finn anymore because one of the characters is literally NAMED "Nigger Jim" (AND HE'S ONE OF THE BETTER ADULTS IN THE ENTIRE GODDAMN BOOK).

"Self healing" and "self care", which more than often boils down to self pampering nowadays.

I know we all need something to blow off steam after days of doing works or assignments, but come on.

I've seen people using those term to justify their consoomer habits such as unneeded vacations and buying a huge amount of toys and vidya, not to mention gacha. Others also used them as an excuse to slacking off.

"Mid" there is no scale of attractiveness, either it's fuckable or it's not.
Hearing real people outside of the Internet using it in everyday conversation makes me wonder if they came out of the Special Ed class.

I genuinely have no clue where “mid” came from. It’s about as more subtle as “woke”.

Honestly "COVID". I just hate the way it sounds when you say it and would rather just say "coronavirus".
The nicknames people came up for it were funny way to refer to it but then it became "racially insensitive" or whatever to point out in any way that the outbreak came from china. I've run into people recently that were confused what I meant when I called it "the coof" in a casual conversation with someone despite people calling it for the last 2 years. That and the celebrity parody thing being spun asjust "old thing racist!!" got me wondering about shit lately for real.

I feel visceral anger when I hear the term "poggers."
I dunno man it was pretty funny when the chuck e cheese livestream thing happened and he says it before whimpering like a gun's being held to the puppeteer's head offscreen.

Zoomer slang, specifically “that tracks”

It just rubs me the wrong way for whatever reason, probably didn’t help I was listening to a podcast hosted by two older millennials who kept saying it like it was going to be outlawed tomorrow.

Grumblegrumble just say “that’s cool” or “that rocks” damn kids back in my day our slang made sense and we LIKED it!

I can't tell if this is newspeak or I just talk to retard, but one person I know says "yee" instead of "yeah" in real life.
I've seen people type "ye" instead of "yeah," and even that annoys me, but it feels like this person saw that typed out and decided she needs to pronounce it that way too.
It doesn't even flow into the rest of a thought, she'll just say "ye." as the final thought in a conversation.

I have another friend whose speech habits noticeably change at the speed of Twitter trends.
Examples include saying "it me " and then showing me a picture she finds relatable. That shit is (supposed to be) cutesy online, but it does NOT translate to real life at all.
Luckily that only lasted a month or two before never happening again.

The flipside to these terms evolving so unnaturally quickly is that when my (much older) boss says "you're totally triggering me right now" years after everyone's stopped saying "triggered," it's really, really funny how uncomfortable everyone gets.
