Yeah, it's one of his least interesting offenses, but anyone he has financial contact with is a 'friend' or wants to do him a favor because Boogie's such a great guy.
I remember him stating at one point that his lawyer is a personal friend and implied this was going to be pro bono. Surprise to no one - the lawyer's billing him. Considering that he's perhaps making $40k - 45k gross a year, he already threw away $6k on a dog he regrets, who knows how much on the totally hot hairy mentally ill girlfriend (let's assume another $5k), his lawyer's bill; on the low end $5k, but more realistically around $10k.
He may have already burned through half of what he earns in a year. That's all before taxes, the mortgage and bills, and his medicine keeping his unnatural life going.
There's no question that a life changing health event is just around the corner for Boogie. It's inevitable. I really doubt he's had any discipline to save - when he talks about having money, I think he's referring to the equity in his house - which only becomes liquid if he sells or takes a loan against it. That health event will change everything overnight.
He's close to bankruptcy and his online narcissism perpetuates the laughable lie that he's financially secure. Just like how everyone he meets is a 'friend' or 'fan', the reality is they're just a normal person who doesn't care about a rotund sex pest.
