When we talk about some not pulling their weight we really mean one country. Germany. Their defense spending and economic policies and energy policies are basically what caused this. The EU is their pet project. Energiewende is them backdooring imported Russian gas. The shortfall of NATO spending them dismantling their military.
Germany can't do anything or take any military action to speak of for quiet obvious reasons. Spending money on the German military is a complete waste of time because
nobody is going to allow it to be deployed or take any actions. The whole thing is all for show and is kept on a tight leash by Washington. The head of the navy simply
offered an opinion about Ukraine at a conference in India not too long ago and the wrath of god came down from washington. He was quickly gone.

Western Europe needs energy to heat houses. Its all fine to sit somewhere else and say how easy it is to solve the problem. But if its not going to be natural gas from
Russia, the energy needs to come from somewhere. And windmills are not going to cut it.

Ukrainian Border Guards. While we do not have the whole story, this does not look good for PR.

So far, beating up "brown folx" has been fine if you're a Ukrainian. However, that can change at any time.

Nobody cares about brown people when shit is about to get real.

Found that same video (without the logo) on one of the Russian telegrams. It's apparently an explosion created by an Iskander missile landing on an ammunition depot (link).

Also, two residents were just shot in Kharkov, and were declared "saboteurs" afterwards (link).

I don't think the Russians have the numbers to take the city. They had assumed Ukrainian resistance would have crumbled by this point. The forces that have reached Kiev are sufficient for a reconnaissance in force, maybe even raids, but actually going in and holding the city? Not a chance. We are talking a city of 3 million people with by all accounts some 50,000 troops when counting the regular army formation and civilian auxiliary. Russia is going to need to bring up at least 75,000 soldiers minimum to make an attempt.

This is probably why we see the Russians pulling out all the stops in Karkhiv. They need those forces over at Kiev.
There are not 50,000 Ukranian troops in Kiev.

I mean, I understand that thinking, the entire world is pretty much against him.. I really hope it's just a bigballed bluff. But the best bluffs are ones that never get called, and our leadership is fuckign stupid enough to call it.
