It was actually Internet trolls that first redpilled me on lugenpresse. They'll report any meme you send them over and over. 0 verification of anything
It was all the idiots on social media going onto myspace asking randos larping during happenings “I am shithead shillberg with abcnews are you okay and can we interview you?”

Every observation about the relative effectiveness of ATGM's in this conflict needs to be tempered by the fact the Russian's have had a very light hand so far and we haven't seen any truly modern armor being used.

I'm saying that as someone who thinks the operation overall is muddled and poorly coordinated.
Putin likely believed the Ukrainians would put up only token resistance. STAVKA apparently planned accordingly, which was pretty fucking stupid of them. You plan for a variety of contingencies. "No plan survives contact with the enemy."

Now STAVKA is reworking their plans, but making fixes won't be easy. In the end, the Russians can win using brute force, at a terrible cost. Reminds me some of my namesake's 1939 attack on Finland. Finns kicked Soviet ass. But in March 1940, with new plans and additional forces, the Soviets were breaking through. Finland sued for peace and got it, at the cost of territory. Made my namesake and the USSR pariahs throughout much of the world. Then the next year the Finns joined the Germans in the attack on the USSR. Basically, the Finns took back everything they lost the year before.

Anyone good at translating Slavic languages?

This is allegedly "Ukrainian Member of Parliament Illia Kyva" speaking out against Zelenskyy, claiming he knew that war would break out and did nothing to prevent it.

I'm a Balkan slavshit so it's a little distant language wise. The tweet is accurate from what I can translate he is criticizing Zelensky for sure.

I'm curious as to what fighters NATO is giving them. Across all of NATO I think there's maybe 60 to 70 mig 29s in service, plus a handful of soviet ground attack types. We can't give them any western fighters, just because they don't have pilots trained on them, and it's doubtful they would accept the Ukrainian munitions. If we give them those migs, I wonder how fast they'll be replaced in those countries.

That whole "We will redesign the Marine Corps to be more like the Army" just screams of 21st Century weakness.

I read that plan and just went "So, what makes you different than the Army, except you're somehow more ate the fuck up?"

"We have different uniforms and can ride on boats."
Wasn't there plans after Vietnam to abolish the corps iirc.

Which makes it as a justification even weaker. And you don't "get spooked" into an invasion, they prepared this for months (as any invasion is). Zelensky was of course a massive retard for suggesting bringing nukes into the country, but there's a lot russia could've done to actually prevent it from happening. They didn't even try making an ultimatum about no nukes in ukraine before invading, just putin's rambling speech about muh nazis.
no nukes was the deal the whole time tho. the second zelensky started blabbing about nukes was like putting a "rape me" sign on his back.
you're also talking as if putin had a lot of leverage in the first place. what's he supposed to do when push comes to shove, sanctions and sternly worded letters?

whatever you personally might think about the whole thing, pretty sure putin didn't just wake up one day with an itchy ballsack ready to fuck a country.

Here is a photo of him from Wikipedia. He is a member of the Opposition Platform - For Life which is a pro-Russian Eurosceptic party in Ukraine. Him being against Zelensky would make sense.

Russia is currently advancing significantly faster than Hitlers armies did into Poland. So that would be a more accurate comparison. I mean people are forgetting that multiple cities; Sumy, Kherson, Melitopol, Kharkiv have been encircled, with likely soon Kyiv, Mariupol and Cherniv joining them.
