I watched the nightly news tonight (NBC) because...well, I have been here all day, and I wanted to see what bat signals were getting sent out to the mush-mouthed smooth brained leftists that still watch this legacy trash...and I was up for the punishment.

They fawned over him for about 3 minutes with no actual substance. Just buzzwords, snapshots, and oh did you know he had a hit TV show? It was a comedy. Who knew that lowly actor comedian would ever become President! But you know what...he pulled himself up by his bootstraps, and left that lowly highest paid job in Ukraine, and he did it! He won the presidency in the super Democratic and totally not corrupt Ukraine! What a guy! Are you on board yet?! Get on board with our totally not installed by the CIA and western corrupt governments!

Right there I knew what they are doing with this guy. They are selling him to the Reddit crowd. Reddit does love it some comedy. They love them some heroes. But you know what they really love? COMEDY HEROES. Unfuckingbelievable. Nothing about his policy or anything related to who this guy actually is. Nothing relatable to normal humans who don't live on Netflix and Reddit. Just platitudes and stupidity to cow the morons into following the actor comedian turned President to the gates of hell. I still don't know if this guy has kids, religion, or anything resembling....anything human.

Well its defiantly going to be bad in the short term. However that leaked Russian propaganda article made it clear they are moving towards a "Multipolar world" and intend to decouple from the West and its institutions. Most likely China, India, and others are working on backroom deals with Russia as we shitpost here, while they do pubic displays of condemnation and leveling show-sanctions that won't amount to much.

Both Russia's government and the population is used to sanctions and a bad economy. The population knows how to survival and tolerate economic collapses like this. The frenzied NPC propaganda and response only enforces Russia's own propaganda its aiming at its own people. But the oligarchs are not going to be pleased they can't go to NBA games or shop at Tiffany's anymore, and they can really start some shit if Putin's grip is not firm enough.

The real loser here is Germany and Europe, who aren't going to get easy natural gas and other resources. Anyone who invested in the Nord 2 pipeline just got 0% return on their investment, effectively burning piles of billions of dollars on fire for a useless steel tube.

I'm skeptical of how much other countries would want to sign onto Russia's "multipolar world" given that'd be little more than a return to the Cold War with the Soviet bloc, the USA bloc, and the third world. I'm sure plenty of Russian boomers might long for the days when they weren't interdependent on the west, but plenty of others probably aren't so nostalgic. Especially given that current events aren't going to be great for Russia's negotiating power. If China says "Nah, we're good." because they're happy with the way their long term track looks, then Russia probably isn't going to get many other takers and will be fucked.
