Its not oil sales, its natural gas sales.
Germany & The Netherlands, chiefly, have let envirocucks win and gone "green". What this means is banning coal/nukes and replacing it with one wind turbine and natural gas plants. Natural Gas plants have lower emissions than coal, but are substancially more expensive especially for Germany that has substantive domestic coal deposits but very little natural gas.
Netherlands technically has access to offsource Natural Gas, but treehuggers have made sure they can't make use of it.
Both countries have given their balls to Putin, because nearly all of their natural gas comes from Russia. The reason why Putin waited until it got cold to have his little adventure is because embargos on Russia mean embargoes on natural gas which means a massive spike in prices. This means Grandma's heating bill goes to the fucking moon as does everyone's electric bill.
All this shit in Ukraine started in 2014 because German Intelligence (Also CIA) backed the Ukrainian opposition riots against Russia's puppet, disrupting the Great Game that was being played. Germany did this because Russia was playing hardball on natural gas terms and pipeline rates.
The intention seems to have been to scare the president to a more EU-favorable stance, or possibly force him out as a message to Russia, but things got a little out of control and you had civil war and the occupation of Crimea. Germany seeming to agree that letting Putin keep Crimea & defacto control over 1/3 of the country was an equitable trade for a recognized EU-friendly government setting the rates they wanted.

Off topic, but all the Plains Indians were seriously fucked up and brutal. Killing & maiming people from that other tribe/camp in seriously fucked up ways, like breaking someone's limbs and then throwing them into a smoldering fire to laugh as they tried to get out, were common.
Among these violent sadists, the Comanche were the far and away the most brutal and fucked up. Comanche were equal opportunity - they and the Kiowa got along, and they even let based whites & spics join their raiding parties if they like the cut of your jib. The Comanche had a lot to prove, given that were viewed as little better than animals by the other tribes until they got the horse and turned shit aroung.
the tl;dr on why they were so fucked up is that Plain Indian culture had not fully adapted to the introduction of the increased mobility granted by the horse that was introduced by the Spanish. Their fucked up brutality was a hold over from pre-horse times; a way of solving conflicts quickly in a low-resource environment (be so violently fucked up the other people would have no choice but to move away from you or to retaliate and try kill you) which was a survival necessity when you were on foot and those other, bad indians were 10 miles away.
