Russia is right because the US and NATO have genuinely made plans and publicly stated that they intend to move weapons to Ukraine, including long range missiles and even chemical weapons labs. That isn't a meme. This is, as many people have said, no different to the Cuban missile crisis. If you think the USA acted appropriately in the Cuban missile crisis, you are probably going to sympathise with Russia in this situation.

Russia is wrong because the people of Ukraine chose to pivot to NATO and the West voluntarily. Yes, we can argue that the full weight of the Western media pulled them in that direction. Yes, we can argue that the Ukrainian government shut down opposition news stations. You can argue that about any Western country as well, yet we still have to honour the decisions the public make even if they were manipulated because, frankly, we are being manipulated by all sides anyway. If you think the British public deserved to have their Brexit vote honoured, you are probably going to sympathise with Ukraine in this situation.

So my question is... I think that the USA acted appropriately during the Cuban missile crisis AND I think the Brexit vote should be honoured, so whose side should I be on?

I think I have an answer.

The answer is to feel sympathy for the people of the Ukraine while their country is torn apart socially and physically as they are used as pawns in a dick-waving competition.
On one side you have Putin trying to be Big Dick for a Russia still dealing with COVID lockdowns, and if he isn't acting the strongman people will starting looking for stronger men.

On the other, you have EU globohomos who fuel their zero-carbon bullshit on Russian natural gas coming through Ukraine. Their country is being torn apart because EU countries didn't want to spend an extra penny eurocent on a cubic meter of LNG.

I guess in the summation, I blame Putin more. Simply put, Globohomo has made European borders the most stable they've been since there were borders. The only reason to be pissy about NATO missiles on your doorstep, the button to those missiles held by low-constitution homosexual Eurofags, is you are concerned you'll do something so egregious you'll make a Eurofag push the button.

If nukes were removed from the calculus, it is very likely that Russia wouldn't invade at all.

But then again, if nukes were removed, the geopolitical situation would look very different anyway, so I hesitate to say if it'd be a better thing or not. (Likely a lot more proxy/border wars to start with.)

If nukes didn't exist all countries would be more willing to just go at the jugular with each other like its medieval times, the fact that any of the big players can just nuke your capital if you commit too many warcrimes helps all nations to seriously think before starting shit with anyone else, hold back if it comes to fighting and to seek a diplomatic solution when possible (unless you're middle east or africa, the two places the nuke holders don't give a fuck about), but it seems the threshold of nuclear peace is about to the breached

A lot of what Russia has on the ground, all the Russian Vehicles out of fuel and recon platoons surrendering, is the Russian equivalent of national guard units. This is normal Russian doctrine - you send you shitty one-and-done conscripts to do as much as they can to the enemy. Once they are exhausted (and over confident) your actual war units roll in.
You can see that with the massive armored collumns rolling to/through the Ukraine right now. They include logistics, something the expendable units lack.

My favorite "combo" stores are the pharmacies that also sell guns & ammo, like Kinzer Pharmacy (pharmacy, deli (!), guns, ammo) and McCaysville Drug & Gun. There's something quintessentially American about a one-stop shop where you can grab an extra box of 5.56 while you're picking up your psych meds.

Also, I fucking love it, and sincerely hope it never changes.

Loan sharking, theft, scrap metal trade and sending throngs of beggars (often children) to the UK and Ireland.

Many of these Gypsy rococo monstrosities aren't even finished yet or will start falling apart in a decade because the local Gypsies are competing with each other on how fast, how cheap, how grandiose and how tacky you can build and design them.
