Its a sentiment that has been around since the first game in the series released i think. It was also probably inflated a lot (to the point where it became a meme) in ~ 2015 when everyone and their mother were doing Dark Souls challenge runs. (SL 1, no rolling, dance pad, guitar hero controller etc.)is it pride for souls-type players for not using NPC/other player helps? Noel has been struggling to fight that first boss for 3 hours now?
just curious coming from the first-timer playing this type of game and using any kind of help to fight that boss
There's still a core of players who think that way nowadays, but in the grand scheme of things no one gives a damn how you play the game, the elitist 'it doesn't count' argument won't go away anytime soon i think.
Also i absolutely get them not touching multiplayer, partially for people potentially having offensive nicknames but also for security reasons probably.
There was a big security flaw reported in Dark Souls recently where people you connected to could remotely run code on your computer.
It's supposedly fixed, but you never know and something like that could be devastating to anyone, especially vtubers.
