  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
is it pride for souls-type players for not using NPC/other player helps? Noel has been struggling to fight that first boss for 3 hours now?

just curious coming from the first-timer playing this type of game and using any kind of help to fight that boss
Its a sentiment that has been around since the first game in the series released i think. It was also probably inflated a lot (to the point where it became a meme) in ~ 2015 when everyone and their mother were doing Dark Souls challenge runs. (SL 1, no rolling, dance pad, guitar hero controller etc.)
There's still a core of players who think that way nowadays, but in the grand scheme of things no one gives a damn how you play the game, the elitist 'it doesn't count' argument won't go away anytime soon i think.

Also i absolutely get them not touching multiplayer, partially for people potentially having offensive nicknames but also for security reasons probably.
There was a big security flaw reported in Dark Souls recently where people you connected to could remotely run code on your computer.
It's supposedly fixed, but you never know and something like that could be devastating to anyone, especially vtubers.

Eight years ago, I was playing Dark Souls 2 and trying to beat Iron Passage and the boss Blue Smelter Demon. He isn't that hard, but the path way to reach him is bullshit full of trap that make you wait a fuck ton. A huge time waster that isn't fun in anyway. After hours of getting pass the trap areas and learning the boss move set, in my moment of weakness, I used the summon, and beat the boss in one try.
Almost a decade later and I still regret it. It's like I cheap out and doesn't finish the entire game. I need to dig the console out and clear it properly one of these day.

I don't regret not killing the tigers in Frigid Outskirt though. That area is bullshit and only insane people beat it.

Marine accidentally called herself Tenchou instead of Senchou :stress:

Talked about hanging out with various hololive members, Subaru, Shion, Mio, Chloe etc. Chloe is a fujo who played some of the same dating sims as Marine. If you didn't already guess by the smell.
Closest she came to addressing anything was saying she was sad the other day and was lurking in the free chat and watching the ichimi and that cheered her up a little. Also that she has more work to do for 3rd fes than previously expected.
Had a chuuni moment and changed from the sad slow bgm to her usual jolly bgm when she was fully in a good mood again, so barring Rushia actually going fully insane and dropping actual receipts she probably wont ever say much more on it.

Putting aside the general Souls community attitudes towards things, Noel has her own way of doing things. She played Nioh for a long time never using one of the key game mechanics because she felt it was cheap. She unironically cares about her idea of honorable combat

Which one of you did this?

Sio actually had a bit of a similar history with destroying Vtuber company from the inside, that's why she had so many antis (actually also Uto comes to mind) but I've seen people questioning that note IP leak and her being EC I don't know enough about JP internet to really judge it but either way there is a bit of a pattern with fake or exaggerated accusations against Vtuber companies/management, it's probably not unique to Vtubing industry though.

Anyway some interesting reactions to Yugo debut:

I fucking knew those piece of shits will appear , dude no one cares about your stupid pronouns, go away , go shit someone else stream

Imagine all the additional work that's currently going on removing Rushia from whatever number of projects they have under that.
Ye, that's the problem with long-term media where the character and the actor are so closely tied together. All it takes is for the person behind the avatar to do something that can't be ignored and months, even years of work go down the drain. On the other hand, for instance, stuff like Superman will never truly get cancelled, because Superman is whoever the writer wants him to be. (Not to say the fans wouldn't shit on the game/movie/etc. if he deviates too wildly, but that's another matter.) It's why it's a goddamned miracle that Coco graduated like she did, allowing for her character to keep being used in Hololive material.
Saw this making the rounds on /vt/ the other night. It's allegedly a clip from a few years back of Rushia's roommate suicidebaiting on stream.
Hm, she does say "Jisatsu" at some point, shame that part isn't captioned (probably to avoid Youtube bonks? dunno)
The japanese comments are pretty damning though, stuff like "This is the true face behind the avatar." "It's funny how Hololive fans are discovering the NND stuff.", even one guy saying "Voldemort's really back."

Kiara is a chicken? Or a hawk--you can see her hanging around the comment sections of her own clips. She seems traumatized by the doomposting and rratting from her earlier days so you can catch her dispelling rrats in the comments of clips. Makes you wonder if she is also here... Kiara, give us a sign!

Okay so I loved Rushia the character. I didn't know she was like this IRL. I despise suicide baiters. It usually comes from some pathology derived from seeking attention. And panic from not getting their own way. Causing a spiral of dumb and bitchy things that result in more damage. Up to and including actual An Hero. She probably has some type of BPD. The issue is even people who are her friends are getting fed up. Maybe she was always this fucking weird to be around and the girls all knew she'd do some dumb shit. Hence why many aren't all that broken up. Maybe Rushia was threatening to blackmail Cover and just like with the Bugmen, Yagoo takes out his big brass balls, stops pretending to be the kindly old boss and tells Rushia to fuck off. I think something very personal is going on here. Rushia has actually pissed Yagoo off for real. And that's why he's going scorched earth. The same thing happened with China. He was happy to let them take their characters but then they directly tried to blackmail him and he just cut them off. Yagoo is quite happy to be reasonable and kind to the girls. As we saw with Coco and even Aloe. Hell he at least let the chinks graduate. But he specifically terminated Rushia. The end. No more continues. No second chances. So whatever happened. It pissed Yagoo off.

I'm not going to defend Cover outright. This shouldn't have escalated as it did. As soon as the drama happened. Cover should have told everyone Rushia is going on extended vacation. Then tell her not to talk about this to anyone. For her own good. With daily check ins because you know she's a crazy bitch.

but then again if not this, it would be something else I bet dealing with Rushia was pretty draining on other talents and their mental health
I've dealt with someone like Rushia in the past, particularly an ex, so I wouldn't be shocked that even close friends and twink-ex would be drained of her bs and throw her under the bus. It really is draining when dealing someone of that caliber.

Yup, she definitely looks like a sick person

The standard japanese nerd is as cruel as he is earnest. We are bad yes, but these people feel neither remorse nor pity behind the computer screen. They can't be reasoned with... they can't be bargained with...

And that's why early V-tuber agencies try their best to make character and actor separated with Kizuna Ai and Game-bu - both failed. It will always be a risk, but you can't create an authentic and engaging story/dedication to the character if the viewer aren't connected to the actor in some way. The same can be said to Hollywood actors too, like how you can't just change Jack Sparrow's actor for no reason.
On other news: Towa and Kanata become an official unit. You can submission an unit name here
