I doubt that Putin wants to take everything east of the Dnieper as part of some Southwest Russia People's Republic or some shit.

I doubt he has the capability to hold the territory. He can take it from Ukraine, can he spend the blood and treasure to keep the Ukrainians living there from rebelling and making it a quagmire for Russian occupation troops that would have to stay there or the Ukrainians living there would rebel and overthrow their new masters in Donetsk and Luhansk pretty quick

His safest bet is to take the western half of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts that the Kiev government controlled until last week, add them to the DPR and LPR, and then annex that territory or annex it in all but name. Insurgency worries way lower there. Make Ukraine promise not to join NATO or take Western military aid, he wins, end of the day

Russia occupying the entire east half of Ukraine is a quagmire headache waiting to happen

There is a higher probability, putting aside Tim Pool's alarmism on this, of a hypothetical civil war happening than Americans willing to go die in the Ukraine for another kike.

As far as a hypothetical civil war goes, I expect California and New York to not allow Trump's name on the ballot in 2024 as you watch, I am calling it now.

The Democrats will attempt even more retarded methods of rigging the election, that are even too insane by African or Middle Eastern standards of sham elections.

Then I expect things to even break down faster if Trump wins in 2024.

While I always believed the Russians were weak comparative to their size, the Ukraine Twitter posting making it seem like they are winning is questionable at best. I just don't get the end game for them with it. I guess propaganda for their own people, but it's bordering on "Russia is a pushover" territory and it's going to lead to their own people becoming complacent.

From a strategic sense, Ukraine can win if they outlast a stretched and ragged Russian supply chain but not if their people turn this into some BLM riot level of defending their territory.

I don't think the arming of civilians is so much to help right now in open battle. Rather it's an open threat on what will happen if they are occupied. Daily hit and run attacks and all that.

It's a good way to get into the heads of Russian troops that any/all civilians could be out to get them. That way they can hope some Ivan gets itchy trigger finger and ukrain has their "Russians are butchering civilians" headlines around the world.

Now obviously the Russians and Ukies' relationship with one another is nothing at all like the Japanese and the Chinese, but I can't help but think that mass arming of civilians is going to result in a completely avoidable large scale atrocity (much like how this war is happening at all, in my completely uneducated view, because of long term failures of diplomacy), if it hasn't already. I don't mean small incidents where somebody shoots up an ambulance because they're a jumpy retard or indirect incidents where some civilians get caught in an artillery barrage because you're shelling an urban target and that just happens no matter who you are, I'm talking history lecture bold text post-war monument level fuckup.
