If the Russians are smart they're running psyops on social media to stoke the paranoia.
They already are:

This, coupled with Putin's 'de-Nazification' comments, seething about Azov Battallion, and the background into what the KGB used to get up to from Yuri Bezmenov has almost fully convinced me that race politics is a spook.

But the thing that really gets me... the thing that truly drives me up the wall is the fact that if you don't rate this post informative your mother will die in her sleep tonight.

Trust me, she'll outlive us all.

The US went to DEFCON-2 and sent B-52s airborne. We were a hair's breadth away from war if the USSR didn't back down. The difference in Ukraine is that when Russia threatened war, instead of backing down, we escalated. We announced the door to Ukraine joining NATO was open, held a joint military exercise with them, and publicly announced that during this exercise, offensive operations against ethnic Russians in Donbass and Russia itself would be simulated.

The equivalent would be if, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the USSR announced that not only would they not withdraw the missiles, they were going to conduct a few test launches as well to make sure they could hit major American military installations.

Yeah I'm pretty sure things would have gone down different if Khrushchev had told JFK to eat shit and one of their main allies sent a dopey woman to publicly insult Robert McNamara and say that they'd never recognize American sovereignty over Miami.

Putin is an asshole who will come to regret invading PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, but I can only assume the West wanted him to invade, because refusing to seriously engage Russia's complaints while making it extremely clear they wouldn't militarily intervene to stop an invasion was the diplomatic equivalent of putting a giant "Kick Me" sign on the Ukies backs. What with all the bombing and flag waving and shit, they don't even realize yet they've been played.

That reminds me, where's all the wailing and grinding of teeth over "muh Russian disinformation trolls" that, not a month ago, were possessing the minds of every Midwestern boomer that uses facebook?

Here’s my attempt at using Jewgle translate:

Lesh, well, why is it taking so long for
you to answer, are you ready for the exercises?
Mom, I'm no longer in the Crimea, not on
exercises

where??? Dad asks if
send you a parcel
What kind of package mom? I am now
just upside down i want

What are you talking about? What
happened?
Mom, I'm in Ukraine. Here is the real
war. I'm scared, we're fucking
for everyone, even for peaceful ones.
For everything in a row. We were told that
they will greet us
they throw themselves under our equipment
are not allowed to pass. They call us
fascists. Mom is very
hard

Redditors are well known for believing that any screenshot/image of a text conversation must be real lmao. I’m guessing that last bit is supposed to say “we’re fucking killing everyone, even the peaceful ones. We’re shooting them all in rows”
You have to be really “special” indeed to believe this particular one. Then again, redditors are either 15 or “kidults” who can’t communicate properly with other human beings.

They don't need to, the next step will be basically "kill everyone in sight, Bandera will sort them out".

Or this.
If I was Russian, I’d release propaganda of every possible Ukrainian you meat being an undercover Russian. Russian and Ukrainian are very similar languages, and even look very similar, so it would definitely cause people to be at each other’s throats more.

No. Because Russia backed down. If they hadn't, we were going to war. And that's the salient point. We considered the Soviet Union building the ability to strike America from the Caribbean to be worth willing to go to war over, and now people are acting like it's just completely outlandish for Putin to behave in a very similar way, decades later, when we were practicing staging an offensive from Ukraine.
We also did try to invade Cuba just because they became commies, but bay of pigs happend.

Uh-huh. But did the US invade Cuba? Answer yes or no.

The USSR had troops there. It was their missiles. Getting them online requires... working in a coordinated matter with the Cuban government.

Both sides ratcheted things up over a long period of time until the choice was nuke each other or quit. This whole deal skipped a shitload of steps. Where were the fucking NATO troops and their missile brigades? Where was this permanent existential threat? Oh, a hand-holding party that may have lead to a defense arrangement in the future? Wow, I fuckin' wonder why they were doing that!
If you can't understand why Russia's neighbor becoming westernized and wanting nukes which will be a 5 minute flight away from Moscow, thus totally fucking up the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction is an existential threat to Russia you're just a naive retard.

These motherfuckers are out of their mind, I wouldn't be surprised if someone is currently developing a FPS game about the current Ukrainian war as we speak.
Yeah it's a real war with real people getting blown to real pieces

But what is truly important is it's providing new material for consoom

That's what grinds my gears

Sorry, I don't speak Commie.
Are you sure about that? I mean, look at your campuses.

That's the neat thing - they were thinking about this even before the invasion.

Pretty much anyone who contradicts or questions the narrative is now instabanned everywhere. All they see these days is people who agree with them.

Just reskin Qarabagh Wars tbh.

With all the sanctions on importing electronics and the general cost of computer hardware for the forseeable future in both Ukraine and Russia, that's about the best level of graphics most people will be able to run anyway.

The US could already put nukes in the already NATO members Baltic states if it wanted to, also a 5 minute missile flight to St. Petersburg and Moscow

Omicron caused the second-highest death spike of the pandemic in the US, reflected in a similar rise in excess deaths. It also set the record for new COVID-19 hospital admissions. Vaccines significantly reduce hospitalization and almost eliminate deaths.

You are probably correct that no one cares, but what people care about and the ground truth are often at odds.
nooooooooooo you can't just have normal mainstream political and medical opinions in my schizo playpen! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
