If troops are rounding up foreigners, there not going to be debating the finer points of geopolitical relationships, there just gonna grab erry body.

And if I was going to be taken hostage, I much rather have the USA backing me than Chile, a country so poor they have to share their embassy building with 7 other nations and when you call their office you just an answering machine in Spanish telling you to go to a defunct website.

He's been leaving the hotel, he walked the streets earlier today calling reporters pigs. I don't really think he can leave, I mean the mayor said the city was surrounded and he definitely can't go back to Kharkiv. I don't think being conscripted would really be a worry, I mean he has a Chilean passport. I don't think the Ukranians are crazy enough to forcefully press foreigners into their army.

They're assembling foreign battalions for propaganda purposes not to different than the Kurds. Only difference is the Kurds were getting highly skilled, highly motivated veterans from militaries from the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
