Every single boomer I know (regardless of claimed left/right affiliation) watches TV all the time and gets nearly all their political opinions spoon-fed to them from their preferred channel. It's like they were the first generation that grew up watching TV from childhood so they never figured out its 99% propaganda bullshit.

They believe everything the TV says, they ignore everything the TV doesn't tell them, they ridicule everything the TV tells them to ridicule, they buy everything the TV tells them to buy.

"THEY LIVE" wasn't science fiction it was a goddamn documentary.
You just described both of my paternal grandparents to a tee. They watch MSNBC all day and parrot whatever it tells them, which is far left talking points.

Thankfully someone put a desceiption on the one that had a dead dog.
I no go inside

Damn it. I swear I hit reply.

I've found the weird thing is that, if you query people on their occupation or expertise, they can tell you everything, including the corruption in their own industry. But when you switch over to news events, it's like a switch goes off in their head. The critical thinking skills just go poof.
When I tell boomers I don't have cable they just look at me like I'm insane.
"But you have two TVs!"
"Yeah I use those as monitors. For my PCs".
A look of horror crosses their faces.
"But everyone has cable!"
"Nope"
"HOW DO YOU WATCH THE NEWS?!"
"I don't"
They just shake their heads. It's hilarious.

Reading the news and comment sections >>>>> watching the news

there was already a good hit of "things are sorta chill, just don't lighting off any explosives around here and things will be ok- awww shit" on the table this week
even a stray bullet won't suddenly restart the fission process, if they even fired one. was there any large ukrainian military presence or heavy firefights at all? only the levels have gone up from kicking up the dust (as to be expected) which twitter and reddit took for chernobyl 2.0.
I also doubt the russians are dumb enough to mess with or let anyone else mess with it, so the worst thing that could happen is someone not cataloging the daily radiation levels or something.

EDIT: just thinking about it, they're still slavs, so... eh I guess anything's possible.

Let me introduce you to the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect.

yeah afaik it would take dirty bomb levels of shit very tactically applied to do serious harm to anybody outside of random wildlife and old people who never moved, but iirc hub-bub around there kicked up enough dust to register on the meters, not as much as a tactical banana or anything but still enough to scare dumbshits about ATOMICS BAD
edit- well yeah with that edit, for sure, gopnick is nature's answer to rolling an 01 on the d20

I had a tiny little accident with machete. No way I'm explaining that. But my bathroom looked like something out of one of the Scream movies. Every step was a spurt of blood.
And not kidding, "only the tip went in."

I'd rather get shot but I'm more careful with a gun so
I don't remember where I read it, but I remember that a one or two inch deep stab from a Roman gladius was often enough to inflict a fatal wound.

I get my news from Kiwi Farms. @CatParty tells me what I need to know. And you @JambledUpWords , very informative.
Fuck CNN and Fox. I trust the autists on here and occasionally independents like AgendaFreeTV
