i remember a Forensic accountant and fraud investigator said that people were scammed by "idiots" a lot more than people think, the usual conman people think of is some charismatic guy who you're gravitating to because they're religious or a motivational speaker and have a connection to. but a stereotypical conman people don't usually think of is the stupider ones, the ones with funny voices and bad looks, obviously mentally challenged. People think someone is so stupid that they can barely wipe their own ass, so they let their guard down way more around say a Chris-chan type than they would a Jim Baker type.
He used Zootopia as a great example of this, no one would expect the equivalent of a little kid to scam them. And its true, as we've seen people get outsmarted or outshittalked by Chris a lot more than you'd expect. Bobo from O&A has absolutely scammed people out of baseball tickets and other stuff. Even Lana, because we all know how she looks and talks and acts, so when you interact with her you already feel you could get her naked and eating poop like a dog with how much better you feel compared to her, so you let your guard down, the same way people do around children. Thats why gangs use children as lookouts, some kid runnning around his neighborhood doesn't even register as out of the ordinary, even if he said he was a lookout you'd assume he was playing some kid game.
Of course they got scammed, they were sure they'd be able to catch Lana if she tried to scam them because of how stupid she is, hell she was the first woman in almost 20 years to willingly date mike majlak, if thats not stupid what is?
Having said that, she also hung around Majlak and the paul bros when this NFT bullshit got started, so she probably has learned its a get rich quick scheme before most people even knew what it even was. the Pauls have been fucking trend setters for this shit. they brought back pokemon cards, beaniebabies, and then NFTs.
