Besides, as Poland found out a couple of times through history, being a buffer state is not a comfortable situation and it's not conductive to great economic development or political independence. The state you're buffering for doesn't want you to develop, they want you dependent on them economically, and you're supposed to remain beholden to their political whims. There aren't a lot of good things involved in being a buffer state.)

Vladimir Putin has been in power for 22 years now, and an autocrat for at least 10. Plenty of time to realize just how bad an idea it is to be under his heel. I don't blame Ukraine for trying to side with the West under those circumstances. They made their gamble, and obviously now they're facing the consequences. But Ukraine doesn't exist solely to laundry Democrat politicians' money. It's still a large, functional nation. Trying to make it look like this whole fucking thing is just one big plot by the American left and both Ukraine and Russia just went along with it like they didn't have any choice on the matter is ludicrous. The article tries to sound deep but it's extremely reductionist and America-centric because of that. Our interests are but one of the things that made this situation happen.

except you can exist just fine as a buffer state, and the poland comparison is ingeniousness - the likelyhood of russia starting shit with hungary or moldovia are slim to none, poland getting fucked was because of it's location, not because being a buffer state. even in the wider spectrum it wouldn't have matter since they would've been a buffer state in russia's shadow, not smack dab in the middle.

the west (and russia) is also a big part why the ukraine is the shithole it is. sure, it is it's own country with it's own history, but it's still a corrupt shithole, which didn't really change, only whose money they took - which would was fine for everyone involved for the longest time, until they suddenly wanted into nato which, for everyone looking at a map, is obvious that's fucking stupid, but it was what the west was selling them so they can launder their money for cheap (this is the biden thread, so you know what I mean).

point is no one cared what ukraine wanted or did, they could function just fine so far, most people can't even find it on a map. however if you start shit with your neighbor it's not surprising said neighbor slaps you down at some point.

The woke progressive on the other hand is a major part of the Democratic Party and their retarded cunt of a leader and his administration think Twitter is the true voice of the people and influences straight up how the military is run.

Well that's going to be harder. Trump is thining, but is clearly healthy by how he sounds. Well Biden is thin, but doesn't sound well at all. I wonder how many normies will fall for that line?
