The general investing principle you would apply is: is this an overreaction to a temporary event that is likely to resolve in a short timeframe. I would say no.
I'd say yes, right now confidence in Russian currency is at an all time low but I figure if Ukraine is going to get swallowed up in less than a month then we'll gradually see the reverse happen over the next few years as sanctions slowly get lifted over time.

they'll do it quietly, when the public isn't paying attention due to some distraction.
sooner or later the next george floyd will take over the news cycle, that's when sanction rollbacks can be expected i think.
If they want to continue shorting Russian stocks, they have to let it recover some time. Shekel 101 by Professor Shekelstein.

. It really breaks down the fascist history of Ukraine, and their love for murderers, despots, and maniacs: actual Nazis.

Im a total cynic. And now i can't help but wonder how long it will be before Poles turn on Ukrainians in .Poland.

Right now the emotions are strong, people want to help, donate, offer help, they know the world is watching but Polish-Ukrainian relations are stained and Poles never forget.

Ukraine committed incredibly brutal ethnic genocide on Poles some years ago murdering thousands. The memory has been revived few years ago with the release of film "Wołyń" (English version is called "Hatred"). The movie was banned in Ukraine for the fear of causing a civil unrest as the Ukrainians were portrayed as absolute violent animalistic scum.

I already saw few grafittis in the city saying "Remember Wołyń".

"Between 1943 and 1945, members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army massacred thousands of Poles throughout Wołyń, a region that was in Nazi-occupied Poland and is part of present-day Ukraine.

Throughout the period, it is estimated that around 100,000 Poles died at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists. As part of retaliatory actions, Poles killed between 15,000 and 20,000 Ukrainians.
The murders were committed with incredible cruelty. Many were burnt alive or thrown into wells. Axes, pitchforks, scythes, knives and other farming tools rather than guns were used in an attempt to make the massacres look like a spontaneous peasant uprising.

In the blood frenzy, the Ukrainians tortured their victims with unimaginable bestiality. Victims were scalped. They had their noses, lips and ears cut off. They had their eyes gouged out and hands cut off and they had their heads squashed in clamps. Woman had their breasts cut off and pregnant woman were stabbed in the belly. Men had their genitals sliced off with sickles.

In the opinion of the historian Prof. Grzegorz Motyka, an expert on Polish-Ukrainian issues, “although the anti-Polish action was an ethnic cleansing, it also meets the definition of genocide”.

So from my line of thinking, NOW is the time to buy the Ruble in large quantities given that in a year it'll likely even out, or am I simply retarded?
In my living memory it only deprecated and never gained value. Dropped from 15 to 30 in 2000-ish where it floundered for about ten years, then collapsed to 70 after 2014 where it stayed until now and is currently plummeting below 110 towards Zimbabwe.

Don't.

Random thought: When do you think the GloboHomos will start walking back the sanctions on Russia and the like? I figure once Ukraine finally falls and Russia makes it clear they have dirt on some of them.
As soon as gas prices become an issue for the midterm elections.
NPCs can take a lot, but don't you dare mess with their ability to consoom!

I watched Oliver Stone's 2016 Ukraine on Fire last night.

Warning: It fucking sucks, the pacing is way too fast with almost no details, it's autistic as fuck and jumps around like a George Floyd on a speedball.

That being said, I recommend anyone who isn't up to speed on the absolute clusterfuck that the west created out of Ukraine, it will answer all your questions. We orchestrated this entire mess through bad decisions and meddling, and are doing our best to deny and deflect today. The west, especially the United States, is the bad guy in all this. My mind is made up. We just can't help ourselves. It really breaks down the fascist history of Ukraine, and their love for murderers, despots, and maniacs: actual Nazis.

The fact that the left and the media, a bunch of low testosterone morons on Reddit, and almost all of our politicians are now supporting them...yeah, fuck those guys.

Fuck Russia too....but this thing is way worse than we thought. If you want a crash course, check it out.
I mean I've been following this since 2013 and the euromaidan protest's we're the US Using a color revolution to overthrow Ukraines elected government. Let's not forget Oliver stone loves to play up the US is a bad guy here. But realistically it was more the EU and Clinton's who wanted a country like Ukraine that they could funnel dirty money through.
Russia for decades had kept Ukraine under it's thumb, it's government was very corrupt even the pro Russian government was horribly corrupt and incompetent.

It's new government isn't much better either but Ukraine got slightly better deals on the markets and more financial aid and military backup. To understand Ukraine one has to understand this is a normal geopolitical struggle. There are no real good guys or bad guys here. Everyone has enough blood on their hands that unironically enough I would argue the Nazis yes the literal crazy insane Nazis have less blood on their hands then one might think. This country has been brutally repressed by the holdomor and has had Russia dictate for much of the 20th century how it could be run. This has created justified resentment in western Ukraine. There is a reason banderia type groups are popular.

If you understand your history for millions of Ukrainians in 1941 the Nazis had been seen as liberator's compared to the communists. The anti Russian sentiment hasn't declined this war has made it worse. Both Putin and the US elite wanted this War to happen. You don't need an Oliver stone documentary that a few based people in A&H would have done and saved you from giving a man like him more shekels.

Friendly state being defined as one which canada is not at war with.
Well, the Canadian government already gave anyone the green light enlist in Ukraine if they so desire:
Up to Canadians whether they fight for Ukraine foreign legion, Foreign Minister says
Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says it’s up to individual Canadians to decide whether they want to join Ukraine’s new foreign legion to help the country fight the Russian invasion.

As Moscow’s forces are laying siege to the capital Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the formation of an “international legion” of volunteers to help defend Ukraine.

Ms. Joly in a news conference on Sunday reiterated that the government has warned against travelling to Ukraine because of the insecurity there. But she says Canadians can decide if they want to join the fight.

“We understand that people of Ukrainian descent want to support their fellow Ukrainians and also that there is a desire to defend the motherland and in that sense it is their own individual decision,” Ms. Joly told reporters at a news conference Sunday. “Let me be clear: we are all very supportive of any form of support to Ukrainians right now.”

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has said she would support British citizens who decide to head to Ukraine to fight the Russian invasion.

On Sunday, Ottawa announced it would be sending $25-million in non-lethal gear to Ukraine. Ms. Joly said this includes helmets, body armour, gas masks and night-vision goggles.

And Defence Minister Anita Anand said more weapons shipments to Ukraine are “not off the table.” Canada recently shipped $7.8-million in lethal aid to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Saturday invited foreigners to join the fight against Russia. He urged people around the world to contact their local Ukrainian embassy to enlist.

“Foreigners willing to defend Ukraine and world order as part of the International Legion of Territorial Defence of Ukraine, I invite you to contact foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine in your respective countries.”

Ottawa also announced Sunday that it would be lending additional airlift – two Hercules C-130s – support to be used by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in delivering aid to Ukraine, Ms. Anand said. Further, Canada is lending cybersecurity to experts to help protect Ukraine’s infrastructure from cyberattacks, she said.

The Defence Minister emphasized that Canadian soldiers are not being deployed to fight Russia in Ukraine.

“To those asking whether Canada will send troops to fight in Ukraine, a combat mission is not on the table at this time,” Ms. Anand said. “Nor is it on the table for our allies, including the United States.”

Ottawa, however, has announced plans to deploy 460 more Canadian Armed Forces personnel to Europe as part of NATO’s reassurance campaign to demonstrate it’s ready to defend the military alliance’s eastern flank that borders Russia.

Ottawa is sending an artillery battery of 120 gunners in the weeks ahead as well as an additional frigate and surveillance aircraft. This is on top of about 800 soldiers, sailors and air personnel already part of the NATO effort to deter Russian aggression and expansionism in Europe. Canada has led a multinational battlegroup in Latvia for nearly five years.

Ottawa has placed 3,400 military personnel on standby for deployment to Europe if necessary as part of a NATO response force should they be needed to defend member countries of the alliance. Ms. Anand reminded Canadians of NATO’s collective-defence arrangement where “an attack on one is an attack on all.”

Ms. Anand denounced Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to put his nuclear deterrent forces on high alert as “bellicose and irresponsible rhetoric.”

Ms. Joly also appealed to Canadians to help counter what she called Russia’s propaganda machine, telling them to send photos or videos of the attack on Ukraine to their friends or relatives in Russia.

“The Russian regime has a powerful propaganda machine that is selling falsehoods and lies about their motivations and invasion of Ukraine.”

The Foreign Affairs Minister said Ottawa is expediting the delivery of non-lethal gear to Ukraine in co-operation with Poland.

Kyiv remained in Ukrainian government hands Sunday, with Mr. Zelensky rallying his people daily despite Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure.

As missiles fell on Ukrainian cities, nearly 400,000 civilians, mainly women and children, have fled into neighbouring countries. Hundreds were stranded in Kyiv on Sunday waiting for trains to take them west, away from the fighting.

Ms. Joly said Mr. Putin is behaving irrationally. “Nobody who decides to bombard a sovereign nation can be rational in doing so.”

Ms. Anand was asked Sunday whether Canada and the United States would expedite the planned modernization of the U.S.-Canadian North Warning System that is supposed to detect incoming threats to the continent. The price tag for this upgrade is expected to exceed $10-billion. She said she’s had a number of conversations with her U.S. counterpart on the project. “The bottom line is we will remain firm and unwavering in defending Canada’s sovereignty.”

Ms. Joly accused Mr. Putin of trying to divide the NATO alliance and said he has achieved the opposite, noting the increasingly harsh sanctions being applied to Russia including efforts to cut off the country from the SWIFT international payments system.

“We are working together to suffocate the Russian regime,” the Foreign Affairs Minister said. “Measures that were described as a last resort just days ago are now moving forward with consensus.”

Americans projecting way to hard their kiked election on this conflict
All that I have learned from this entire episode.

George Washington is truly greater than Lincoln, in his wisdom about 3 centuries ago, he advised Americans not to get entangled in Europoor affairs.

He knew they were always going to be a bunch of warmongering retards led by inbred cucks that chimp out at each other for the lulz.

Woodrow Wilson's grave should be pissed on.

international incident? russians will just execute him, then report him as 'killed in action' and that's the end of the story
and therein lies the incident. a citizen of a neutral country fighting against russia in that context is an international incident in itself. Thats a massive violation of international law on his part and on canadas part for allowing it. He's not from ukraine and is not a citizen. a canadian caught shooting at and killing russians is going to cause some serious problems for the government. Then again its trudeau so maybe thats not a bad thing. On the other hand killing said canadian puts russia in a serious diplomatic situation regardless of the reason, both because canada is neutral and because of the whole canada is a member of NATO thing

On the other hand, as I said he isn't a citizen and isn't a legally recognized member of the armed forces of ukraine, which means per the geneva convention he has no legal protections as such people are considered to be either spies or illegal partisans, (and are explicitly excluded from being treated as POWs and from the protections granted to them) both of which are subject to summary execution. Not that russia would be wise to exercise that particular clause, let alone in any kind of public manner. If the media ever caught wind of it there would be an international incident regardless of how or why it happened. That isn't the kind of anti russian propaganda they can afford right now

So from my line of thinking, NOW is the time to buy the Ruble in large quantities given that in a year it'll likely even out, or am I simply retarded?
Brokerage houses have already spent the last 2 years clowning people out of vast sums of their money because of lines of thinking like this. Don't add yourself to the statistics pile

I for one am looking forward to reverse Stalingrad. The sooner all these degenerate fucksticks on both sides wipe each other off the map, the better.

I watched the senate this morning, Democrats and establishment tards are all on board with opening up the US to more drilling. They have flip flopped on fossil fuels so fast I don't know how they don't have neck injuries from the whiplash.

I identify as a closeted as fuck lesbian.

Yeah, well, I endured it for you. Oliver Stone sucks and it is probably 50% bullshit propaganda anyways.
You have to understand there is a uniparty they're all neo weather neo conservative or neo liberal they're all the same at the end. Neocons just pretend that militarism and acting patriotic makes up for letting libs turn your kids gay.
Neo liberals think turning your kid gay is a way forward. But both of them agree that we need to remove any country they threatens the Petro dollars stability.

So, I'm not ready to meme on the Russian military until we start hitting the 1 month mark. It took the most advanced powerful army in the world an entire month to finish off the Iraq Army after bombing them back to the stone age, so I don't see why Russia is a dismal failure of a military for not finishing the war in the span of a week, against a country with a better military and a lot more ground to cover.

Yeah, definitely not saying that Ukies have no fight in them at all. It's not going to be a first round knockout for Russia; maybe a second or third. It sort of lines up with my prediction a few days ago for who would win the war.

Even if it's true that those are indeed Russian convoys and that they have been abandoned, I still think the Russians win. It's a numbers game, man. Russia has a larger population, which means a larger military, which should mean more engineers that produce more vehicles, and so convoys and artillery can be easily replaced. Also, more people means more taxes, and so the Rus gov't can purchase more artillery and other equipment from foreign countries if they want (or hire mercenaries if they're desperate).

By extension, since Ukies have a lower total population, their pro military is smaller, and so they have to compensate with militia. I don't think Ukies are going to get steamrolled, though. They're the defending force, living inside cities with a ton of buildings, which is a pretty solid advantage on the ground; it means you get to take cover first.

I think Ukrainian militias are smart enough to "play Taliban", meaning they'll try hiding behind their buildings while shooting and throwing molotovs at the enemy until they give up. However, I still think their morale is poor, and so if their buildings are shelled by light artillery or other missiles, they'll run. So, if, by some chance, the Ukrainians manage to make Russians abandon their artillery, that's a big win.

But to me, Russians win, simply because of numbers.

They know they're on thin ice. They will be blamed for the mounting kitchen-table issues in the midterms, and are doing damage control.
