More common than any of those rationales, I think: people who will cheer for absolutely anything hostile to globohomo, even if it's just another competing would-be globohomo on the other side of the planet. They may know Russia is corrupt, but may see them as a "lesser evil" compared to the admittedly evil thing that is western LiBeRaL DeMoCraCy in 2022.

Mix in a little geopolitics-as-spectator-sports and contrarianism/"rooting for the bad guy" syndrome and it's not too hard to understand.

Unlikely, in my opinion. If you browse to CCTV (China's state media) english website, you will notice that they're barely mentioning the Russian-Ukraine war. Contrast that with a mention to to the Texan primary in the US, which by all accounts, shouldn't be much of a big news (no major surprises expected, even that one-eyed jew Crenshaw sailed by).

The CCP is watching the events unfold, but I don't think they committed to either side. And it is in their interest to not have to deal with a failed state right up on their borders.

The strength of Russia and China's alliance is up for debate. Eastern Russia is territory that the Chinese held up until 1860, and they were still sore enough to have a war over it between Korea and Vietnam. If we want to play 4D chess, it's possible that China is trying to play Russia into pulling their troops West, wasting them in a shitty war, and demoralizing the population to try and ease a grab at Siberia. I'm not going to be laying money down on it, though.

It was on one of the flags behind Putin during his speech where he announced the recognition of the breakaway republics of Ukraine before hostilities started.
