In Russia, there are attorneys who specialize in essentially getting you out of draft. It's not cheap, but there a good number of them with known methods. Back in Soviet days it was more brutal finger amputations etc. to get out of draft when afganistan was on.

multiple reports have come of ukranian males trying to get out of the country and getting stopped at the border, so that's straight up bullshit right there. and while I agree there's more willingness to fight than usual, you're a goddamn idiot for believing you're all literally willing to die a fiery death from your own molotovs or that every mayor that surrenders their city is a literal traitor for not wanting everyone in it to be flattened by artillery in a glorious death, like some hivemind.

They told them to go fuck themselves but were still captured alive. This is not unprecedented. Surrendering troops have told capturing troops to fuck off before, especially if they have good reason to believe the Geneva Convention will apply. And modern militaries do have good reason to obey the GC. The UN can't enforce it, but if one side breaks it, the other will return in kind.

Yeah if you look at old WW2 footage of Russians you'll note there are quite a few Mongol looking Soviets. Hitler and his cronies referred to Russians as the "Asiatic horde(s)" for a reason.


Also as people mentioned in the Kazakhstan happening thread a while ago, governments with varied ethnic forces will always send those units to police or put down civil disturbances comprised of different ethnicity; it's a lot easier for them to prosecute their duties over people who don't look like them.
