I know Kurds treat women like goblins from Goblin Slayer. Meanwhile Turkish female pilot gas-bombed the mountain niggers in 1930's

We have better female military history than Kurdniggers or slavs
That reminds me of how Trump handled the Kurds and the Turks. He said,
you guys negotiate we're not going to back up the Kurds after a date given
And suddenly, for no reason, the kurds stopped terrorist attacks into Turkey.

I think t was Turkey. Some smelly country.

It is you stupid cunt. When faced with an existential threat you mobilize everything. FUCKING EVERYTHING. Losing means you don't exist anymore. Every minute you don't do it is a minute you don't have to get these formations ready and trained and deployed.

Even if it is some old geezer putting a rifle in his hand and telling him to guard a train station frees up the usual train guard to go do a more complex role. Organizing a militia unit to guard a bridge and roadway means the territorial unit usually responsible can be sent elsewhere. Mechanics, truck drivers, ditch diggers, cargo handlers, cooks, etc. All important roles. In fact that is what most people in the military do, support roles.

If you can fill those slots with militia and conscripts you free up a shitload of fighting men. Every total war that has been fought in the last 150 years has done this. YOU. DUMB. SHIT.

People get gunned and bombed and dragged out of cars and get shot a la Call of Duty Villain style by Russians but OK

>MUH JEWCRAINE, SEE I MADE JEW JOKE
Those vasectomied Poles are being more of use to humanity and against the Russian untermensch than you ever will.
You realise where you are, right? X)

The burning documents thing isn't really insidious. Standard practice pretty much everywhere is to burn everything before you pull out because you never know what might be used against you later. Just look at what happened in Afghanistan in the state department buildings. The Taliban ended up getting a huge amount of information I'm sure they've sold off since then.
also to avoid handing over essentially pre-made kill lists of your military and their families.

Without taking a moral stance, I would like to look at how the first week of the campaign has gone compared to a previous campaign that the USSR planned during the Cold War.

In 1979, Soviet planners considered how to wargame a reactive scenario where the West made a first strike on Poland and Czechslovakia, destroying Poland's operational contributions. Their response to this was called "Seven Days to the River Rhine". In it, they planned and predicted that in 7 days, they would be able to break through NATO defensive positions along the East/West German border and conquer Germany, pushing as far as the Rhine, capturing or destroying most major West German cities as they went. In the extended scenario, by day 9 they would have reached Lyon in France.
I think this is interesting to compare to now, after 7 days, Russia has not managed to capture the or even begin ground combat for the centre of the capital of a minor Eastern European country only 50 miles from the staging areas in Belarus.

The situation is of course different - the modern Russian military is smaller and less motivated than at the height of the Cold War, but likewise they face only the Ukrainian defenders. I am convinced that Russia will overcome Kiev, but they have seemingly made it much harder than it has to be. Every day brings more, new sanctions - a quick push over the 50 miles to Kiev and capturing it in a few days would quickly have stopped being news, with instead a focus on the diplomatic negotiations for what to do with Russia-Occupied Ukraine. It was only after the weekend that the Ruble crashed, 3 days into the action. A decisive outcome would likely have not had half the effect we have seen instead.

I think Putin has miscalculated not the outcome of this war, but the capability, speed, and cost, and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out economically in the long term.
The difference between this and the far more efficient and successful invasion of Iraq by America is the general willingness to incur mass civilian casualties. It’s actually pretty difficult to take a city relatively intact when you’re dealing with motivated well armed defenders.

I don’t know what Russia’s initial plan was, and I don’t know how it feels about it’s progress, but it’s clear that Russia needs to switch something up. I don’t believe most of the triumphalist propaganda coming out of Ukraine, but I also don’t believe the Russian propaganda which is painting the invasion as a rosy success.

I don’t think you’re right about Kiev being the only thing Russia needs to occupy. Ukraine is vast, it has several major cities, and the Ukrainian military could more easily defend western Ukraine than the pincered east. Ukraine is digging in for a long fight, one that it will inevitably lose and which could cost hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians their lives. The west clearly wants to use this to isolate and crush Russia, and it will buoy up Ukrainian resistance as much as it possibly can, even if every inch of Ukraine comes under Russian control.

I kid, but I doubt that's going to last too much longer given the Islamist-lite shift the Georgian watermelon seller has taken of late.
