Heh, I stopped writing congressmen back around 2011, when they were proposing double taxing all internet goods to help small businesses. You'd think congressmen in my state would realize that's illegal, so I wrotea full length of how it violates the law, and how to help small businesses and how they aren't directly competing with a majority of internet sales (Well back then, not so much now) and all I got was a "Well congressman is interested in what you sent, but he's still on board with double taxing your internet goods. Cheerio."
It's less the right falls for it, it's more most in the establishment right want to believe that the left really aren't evil, and can be reasoned with, maybe if they act friendly ONE MORE TIME things will change. It's similar to their views on immigration "Well this one group is acting good, so maybe this means they can fit into American culture." It's insanity and stupid but what can one expect from those with delusions that they can "unify" everyone?

Eh, I don't think it's even that. I think like any politicians the Right wing ones are just pieces for shit for the most part and grifting, so to them allying with the Left is just the path of least resistance and all of the opposition is just for show. Politicians are scum, and just because one side is a shitty grifter who is willing to fuck you over, while the other just wants to fuck you over for the sake of it, doesn't mean it's good.

I agree most politicians are like that, but I' mean the few honest (or at least not maliciously deceptive ones: The few who aren't: Even those at the lower level who believe that concept/talking point with full heart: I've met a few who do)
To be honest, I think we should have had a French Revolution style destruction of the political class years ago because even if there are some naïve/stupid/innocent politicians who are just misguided the large majority aren't, and have caused too much damage in the whole political/social spectrum to be just brushed off as a whoopsie even if they were.

In several nursing home locations throughout the state, 100 percent of registered voters cast a ballot in the 2020 election—an unheard-of rate that included many ineligible voters."

It has been recommended by the Special Counsel that the state should decertify the 2020 election, and it is now in the hands of the legislature. This is a big fuckin deal.
Biden is headed there to bribe the fuck out of the state representatives and threaten anybody who won't take money with the FBI SWAT teams breaking down their door.
