President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

So if the U.S knew that China was aware about Russia's plan invasion of Ukraine. Why the fuck did Biden reveal classified information to China. Which they in return gave to Russia?
Have you considered that the US maybe wanted China to share that info, perhaps to implicate China further into the war? Tinfoil hat, I know, but you never knew what American intelligence are up to. They're one slimy bastard...

By the way, another intelligence update from British MoD

They can't do anything to the civilians either or it'll be called a war crime. But that might change if it's making too much of a difference, and start shooting anyone with their phones out which is a really sad thought.
Well 4chan were doing this and providing targeting solutions to the Russians in Syria...

How they didn't consider that this could go the other way is beyond me.

As they didn't consider how the ground conditions in the spring could be a disadvantage like it was during WW2...

TLDR: Poor maintainence of Russia kit is obvious, and is backed up by images of said kit and how the Russians are forced to use it. Impact is that in the North where they are severely underperforming they are confined to the roads.

Did we get too cocky Russia bros? (Yes.)

Russia and Belarus Paralympics ban

Russian and Belarusian athletes will be banned from the Beijing Winter Paralympics after the International Paralympic Committee reversed its original decision.

The IPC’s announcement on Wednesday that athletes from those countries would be allowed to compete under a neutral flag despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine was met by criticism and the threat of a boycott.

In a statement on Thursday morning, the IPC president, Andrew Parsons, said: “In taking our decision yesterday, we were looking at the long-term health and survival of the Paralympic movement. We are fiercely proud of the principles and values that have made the movement what it is today.

“However, what is clear is that the rapidly escalating situation has now put us in a unique and impossible position so close to the start of the Games. Yesterday we said we would continue to listen, and that is what we are doing.”

Parsons said 83 athletes would now be unable to compete, but the decision was taken because of the threat of widespread withdrawals from other countries as well as concerns about safety. The situation in the athletes village, Parsons said, had “become untenable”.

“In the last 12 hours, an overwhelming number of members have been in touch with us and been very open, for which I am grateful. They have told us that, if we do not reconsider our decision, it is now likely to have grave consequences for the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games,” he said.

“Multiple National Paralympic Committees, some of which have been contacted by their governments, teams and athletes, are threatening not to compete. Ensuring the safety and security of athletes is of paramount importance to us and the situation in the athlete villages is escalating and has now become untenable.”

Parsons apologised to athletes from Russia and Belarus: “First and foremost, we have a duty as part of the Paralympic mission, enshrined in the constitution, to guarantee and supervise the organisation of successful Paralympic Games, to ensure that, in sport practised within the Paralympic movement, the spirit of fair play prevails, violence is banned, the health risk of the athletes is managed and fundamental ethical principles are upheld.

“With this in mind, and in order to preserve the integrity of these Games and the safety of all participants, we have decided to refuse the athlete entries from Russian Paralympic Committee and NPC Belarus. To the Para athletes from the impacted countries, we are very sorry that you are affected by the decisions your governments took last week in breaching the Olympic truce. You are victims of your governments’ actions.

“I hope and pray that we can get back to a situation when the talk and focus is fully on the power of sport to transform the lives of persons with disabilities, and the best of humanity.”

The UK culture secretary, Nadine Dorries, who had criticised the initial decision, tweeted on Thursday morning: “Very pleased that the IPC has now come to the right decision, and answered our call to ban Russian and Belarus athletes in response to Putin’s barbaric, senseless invasion.

“The welfare of all the other competing athletes is of utmost importance and we’re pleased the IPC also recognise that. The whole country will be fully behind our ParalympicsGB team at the Games.

“I’ll be discussing the international sporting response and further measures we can take to isolate the Russian regime with my international counterparts later today.”

Anyone who knew anything about Russia's military was predicting this from the start. The reality is that the actual personel are mostly conscripts, with a small cadre of professional special forces, and they have no functional NCOs. All of this together explains everything about Russian military doctrine and performance. When you see russians being brutally competent, it's their special forces in action. When you see them falling apart and bartering diesel for vodka, it's the conscripts. The lack of NCOs means there is no way to instil unit discipline and loyalty, nor is there a mediating interface between the officer corps and the ranks. Without that, overall discipline is poor, meaning maintenance isn't performed, and the result is things like this. The Russians traditionally made up for these shortcomings with sheer weight of numbers and brutal punishments for disobeying orders, but their armed forces are tiny now, in comparison to the glory days of the soviet union, and whatever political officers still exist have little power to enact punitive discipline.

Recall that the Russians could only maintain a couple of days of war-time carrier operations in Syria, before they had to send the Admiral Kuznetsov back to port for repairs. On paper they're a peer of the US, but that appearance is mostly an illusion.

TAMPA, Fla. — This week’s Soyuz launch of a set of OneWeb satellites has been thrown into doubt after Russia made new demands on the company.

In tweets Wednesday, just after the Soyuz rocket carrying 36 satellites rolled out to the pad at the Russian-controlled Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin said the launch would proceed only if the U.K.-based company met new conditions.

These include a guarantee its satellites would not be used for military purposes and that the British government divest its stake in the company — demands OneWeb is unlikely to accede to.

The Soyuz-2.1b rocket will be removed from the pad unless OneWeb guarantees by 1:30 p.m Eastern Standard Time March 4 its satellites will not be used for military purposes, the Russian space agency tweeted March 2.

“There’s no negotiation on OneWeb: the UK Government is not selling its share,” U.K. Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng tweeted just hours later.

“We are in touch with other shareholders to discuss next steps…”

OneWeb and the British government were already feeling pressure from members of parliament to call off the launch in order not to support Russian ventures.

Darren Jones, chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee in Parliament, questioned the appropriateness of the upcoming mission in a March 1 letter to other government officials.

Jones has previously criticized the British government’s decision to invest $500 million in OneWeb to help save the company from bankruptcy in 2020.

Indian conglomerate Bharti Global owns about a third of OneWeb and is its largest shareholder.

France-headquartered Arianespace has so far launched 428 of OneWeb’s planned 648-strong constellation, enabling the company to provide connectivity above 50 degrees North.

OneWeb had aimed to deploy the rest of the satellites before the end of August to expand its reach into more parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and other regions to provide global services.

Arianespace has performed 13 Soyuz missions for OneWeb to date across launch sites in Kazakhstan, Russia and French Guiana, where Arianespace launched OneWeb’s last batch of satellites Feb. 10.

Responding to European sanctions for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russia’s space agency said Feb. 26 it is halting cooperation with Europe on Soyuz launches from French Guiana.

Neither OneWeb nor Arianespace have commented in recent days on the company’s latest launch.

And you know what's worse? We are talking about Russia here, where their military has some actual experiences in wars before and after the fall of Soviet. Now what about China? We might be seeing the truth that America might be the only country with actual military power in size, firepower, and experience

Dunno if anyone mentioned it, but China pulled a Sun Tzu on Putin. They're geopolitical allies - since Russia doesn't have many friends on the world stage, they're doing stuff like selling resources to China below market price to buy their friendship, and ignore their shenanigans in Siberia. China doesn't make friends, they're opportunistic cunts taking advantage of relationships.

Basically, I have no doubt that Putin ensured diplomatic support from China in his war on Ukraine. All they had to do is remain neutral and refuse to support any actions against Russia by international community.
In the end, Russia is bashing its head against Ukraine, depletes its military and exposes its weaknesses for everyone to see.
Most importantly, Russia gets economically severed from the West, while China keeps its position. If current trajectory continues, Russia's dependence on China will increase tremendously. It won't be a partnership, China will abuse the fuck out of Russia as they would have little in terms of alternatives. Like they've already been doing all this time.

Never interrupt your enemy "friend" when he is making a mistake. Well, it was Napoleon Bonaparte who said it, actually, not Sun Tzu.
I have little doubt that China has plans on Russia and are just waiting for the opportunity to strike, pull their own Crimea. Perhaps when Russia is at its weakest.

By the way, if anyone forgets the count, we are currently on the eighth day of the war. Its currently mid afternoon in Ukraine, most likely combat is going on right now. News will probably arrive in a few hours as the night fell and combat stopped. Stay tuned for updates

Edit:
Almost forget, the UN have announced the refugee count has reached a million. Take that as you will

I was expecting a mess but not to this extent. Early US/UK Intel reports (which have been accurate almost to a T on Russian intent thus far) were far more confident in Russian capabilities.

The carrier that's also a cruiser that needs a floatilla of tugboats because it breaks down so often. Embarrassing and expensive for the Russians, and only exists for national pride.

They're not even a peer on paper in my opinion, all they have that would cause the US issues are their SAMs, but they've been shown to be not even half as effective as they claimed in this conflict and they're only fighting 4th gen aircraft (and probably 3rd gen primarily).

How would they function against F35s with AWACs and ELINT support? They just wouldn't.

so according to this, Russian armed forces lost it's advanced short range AA, a pride of russian mil complex, due to someone putting cheap chink tires on it

View attachment 3037612

obviously like with EVERY info about this conflict, take it with a grain of salt , but if it is indeed true, then lol
Chinese products aren’t “cheap” or low quality. These must be Russian knock offs of Chinese tires.
:^)

shouldn't Russia be forced to take at least half of that? after all they started the war under the pretense of helping Ukrainians throw off the yoke of nazism of their jewish president or soemthing like that. Why won't they help with refugees?

they called Kuznetsov a cruiser, just so it can pass the Bosphorus, as aircraft carriers are banned from it, and Soviet union had shipyards making those in Black Sea. It's performance in the Syrian war was abysmal, I think russians lost like 4 planes in landing accidents in just a month of low intensity operations. It also sank the only floating dock big enough to service it, somehow. It is a super-expensive way to stay in the elite "aircraft carrier owners" club.

That said Russia is most likely not utilizing all of it's top toys in Ukraine, to not let them fall into Ukraine's hands (and then be sold to NATO). But they do utilize latest T-90s tanks, newest versions ot T-80s, and Pantsirs, and lost units of them to enemy intact, which must be a tought pill to swallow, esp. that NATO doesn't yet have a equivalent to pantsir.

I like Putin's based as fuck stance on quashing Faggot and Tranny shit, and general rejection of Globohomo. I admire the man playing his political games and being able to keep Russia in line.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What a fucking retard.

You think Russia, one of the most corrupt nations in the world literally controlled by an insane thief who has embezzled billions of his own peoples' money (plus his oligarch pals), is a rejection of globalism???

You have spent so long hating the gay agenda that you will literally side with anyone, no matter how dogshit they will treat you.

  • Soros / lobbyists influencing Washington = globohomo (This corruption is unacceptable!)
  • But somehow oligarchs directly running the country and embezzling billions ≠ globohomo? (This corruption is based because they hate gays.)

Warning: retarded sperging incoming:

Where do you think the money for this stuff comes from? Russia does not have strict money laundering laws, considering most senior government officials get their Christmas bonus via bribes and embezzlement. If dirty money is funding seedy shit like pizza gate, this stuff is most likely coming in from your precious based Russia, not America.

Oligarchs have a shit load of cash stashed away in London and New York to be used for this stuff.

That's right libtard, I'm calling that globo homo pedo shit is in part funded by Russians. Russians are more likely to be involved in globohomo, not resisting it.

And as we all know, it is often the most homophobic politicians who suck the most cock behind the scenes.

If I am honest, I think this is a combination of hubris and Russia promoting their best equipment before it becomes an actual capability. In addition to this, due to a reliance on Western - and Chinese - technology to produce their top tier kit there isn't that much of it. The SU-57 has been around for over a decade and they only have about 11 of them since one crashed. I highly doubt it is ready to challenge western dominance.

The only place Russia exceeds the West - allegedly is air defense - which includes things like the Pansir as you've mentioned. Yet this isn't a lack of technology from the West, its just doctrinally we achieve air superiority through airpower not SAM systems. With the advent of cruise missiles being common in our competitors, I don't think this will last since sending up jets to shoot down a missile isn't going to work.

Russia is open for refugees today and as back in 2014. Regions are asking for donations, collecting warm clothes, food and preparing temporary places to house them. Refugees also can get their russian citizenship and get financical help a well. For some reason foreign news are very silent about this, but I hear about this all the time as a citizen.
