What are the Redditors gonna do when they’re misgendered by both sides of the battle? Ukraine is not some poor, defenceless country that is crying for help, they’ve actually started using prisoners to defend against Russia.
I can’t help but ask: how come this energy isn’t being used for the Israel/Palestine conflict? Do the Redditors feel uneasy at the thought of going to the Middle East?

Most concern for brown people on the internet is performative, Redditors couldn't really give a shit about some 'uncivillized shithole' in the middle east.

I knew lots of people in the 2000s and early 2010s who went to Palestine as aid workers. I wouldn't say it is uneasiness of going to the Middle East, it's just not very glorious or heroic. You go there and spend most of your time with aid workers and getting harassed by IDF and getting bogged down by Palestinian corruption while the situation just slowly gets worse and worse year by year. And no matter how angry someone got at the IDF, they couldn't do shit except screech something along the lines of "THE WORLD IS WATCHING"

During the Syrian Civil War, there were many leftists and Christian Evangelicals who fought for the Kurds and while I don't like shit-talking people who put their lives on the line against ISIS, most of the left-wing volunteers looked out of place and clownish as hell and honestly, I doubt that most of them saw any combat. But for the Muslim world, the civil war in Syria produced a similar amount of excitement that has been seen on Reddit the last couple days.

But this looks to be the biggest war in Europe since WWII and it looks pretty exciting for lots of people who have gotten too bored with peace with a cause that is palatable for most normies. I remember during the Donbass War, most of the volunteers were an ethnic nationalist of some flavor or unhinged wingcucks which was is incredibly offputting to most normies.

There were some that went to Syria IIRC but got sent home again. There were some tankies and anarchists who actually did fight in Rojava and the Redditors were reeing about it. Although that was slightly different in that a bunch of western governments had proscribed most of the groups in Syria and prosecuted volunteers when they came home, and now they're actively saying they'll support anyone who volunteers in the Ukraine.

Has anyone received their check from the Kremlin yet?

These people act as if Ukraine is Portland and Russia is… Russia. What they fail to realize is that there are large portions of Ukraine that predominantly SPEAK and ACT Russian, completely disavowing the fact that they live in Ukraine. In these parts locals would get beat up for speaking Ukrainian (which they consider more of a dialect than an actual language).
If these people fly over and expect to have their photo taken with the president while they’re decked out in their trans pride flag coloured riot gear, I think they might have a few loose screws upstairs.
